Vaivé Circ is a circus school specializing in aerial disciplines located in Bonrepòs i Mirambell, near Valencia. It offers classes for children, teenagers, and adults in aerial silks, hoop, trapeze, hammock, rope, straps, Chinese pole, acrobatics, verticals, contortion, acrobatic dance, and physical conditioning. Vaivé also offers a two-year professional training program specializing in aerial acrobatics and artistic creation, as well as intensive workshops, residencies, stage creation projects, and open training spaces for circus practitioners and artists.
Vaivé Circ is a circus school and a training and creation center specializing in aerial disciplines, located in Bonrepòs i Mirambell, near Valencia.
The project develops a comprehensive approach to contemporary circus , combining amateur practice, professional training, practice, artistic research and stage creation.
Vaivé has two complementary spaces, the Nave Escuela and the Nave LAB .
The whole complex represents approximately 500 m2 dedicated to circus practice and creation.
The available height, between eight and nine meters depending on the space, allows for the practice of a large number of aerial disciplines in good conditions.
This complementarity makes it possible to bring together in the same project beginners, children, adults, students in vocational training and established artists.
Regular courses are available at different levels .
Aerial silks is one of the main disciplines taught. Students progressively develop figures, transitions, technical movements and fluidity.
Aerial hoop also has its own classes. The practice combines the development of strength and flexibility with work on sequences and artistic expression.
The static trapeze is one of the classic disciplines offered by the school. Classes are available at different levels and allow students to explore both the fundamentals and more complex technical elements.
Aerial hammock completes the offering. This discipline uses a fabric suspended in a loop to develop figures, fluid movements and transitions.
The aerial rope also has its own niches. It allows you to work on dynamic movements, static positions, climbs and transitions.
Aerial straps are taught to students wishing to further develop their strength, stability, and body control.
The Chinese pole is also part of the regular offering. This discipline allows participants to explore ascents, descents, strength figures, rotations and dynamic movements around a vertical apparatus.
Vaivé also offers instruction dedicated to general aerial technique . This work is not limited to a particular apparatus. It aims to improve body control, strength, fluidity, and understanding of movements that can be transferred between several aerial disciplines.
Children benefit from courses specifically tailored to their age. The Multiaéreos program, in particular, allows children aged 5 to 12 to discover several aerial disciplines within a single curriculum. The teaching method combines technical learning, games, safety, and the development of creativity. Specific groups allow the progression to be adapted to the age and skill level of the participants.
Aerial disciplines are complemented by significant ground work .
Vertical exercises help develop balance, strength, alignment, and body control in inverted positions.
Acrobatics is another regular discipline. Classes cover the basics and then different families of movements drawn in particular from gymnastic acrobatics, tricking and more fluid approaches to floor acrobatics.
Flexibility and mobility also have specific sessions. The work is done progressively to improve range of motion while respecting individual abilities.
Contortion allows us to go further in this research. It is approached as a progressive practice combining mobility and the construction of sequences.
Physical preparation plays an important role in teaching. It helps develop the strength, endurance, and stability necessary for effective and safe practice of aerial disciplines.
Acrodance creates a link between acrobatics and contemporary dance. It allows for the combination of physical abilities, movement, and artistic expression.
Physical theatre complements this approach. Students explore movement as a means of stage expression and develop tools to enrich their artistic presence.
This diversity reflects Vaivé's conception of the circus. Learning is not limited to the acquisition of technical skills. Technique is progressively used to serve a personal artistic exploration .
Vaivé also offers workshops and intensive courses . Spanish and international artists and professionals are regularly invited to share their expertise. These courses allow participants to delve deeper into a particular technique or discover new ones.
Hair suspension is also one of the techniques covered in some specialized workshops.
Vaivé Circ is also developing a comprehensive professional training program dedicated to circus arts, and more specifically to aerial acrobatics. The annual professional course is organized over two years .
This first stage provides in-depth training in aerial techniques and various complementary disciplines. Pedagogy and methodology are integral to the program. Students also discover the tools necessary for artistic and stage creation.
It allows students to deepen the technical skills acquired during the first year. The objective is also to enable each student to progressively develop their own artistic voice. Research, composition, and creation therefore occupy a particularly important place.
Professional training represents approximately 1,200 hours per year . It therefore constitutes a much greater commitment than regular leisure courses.
Students develop their physical conditioning and aerial technique. They also work on complementary disciplines such as flexibility, contortion, verticals and acrobatics.
The program places significant emphasis on the creation and development of a personal artistic language . Courses and seminars allow students to explore various compositional tools. They learn to research, structure, and develop their own proposals. Each student is required to create a personal performance piece . This piece serves as a true calling card that can then be used in auditions, festivals, or professional research.
The program also prepares candidates wishing to apply to other professional or higher education circus schools. Physical and technical training is complemented by preparation for the requirements of these selection processes.
The program also has a professional integration objective. Students can be supported in their first steps as circus artists or aerial acrobatics instructors. Practical exercises, mentoring, and a final project allow them to gain initial experience in professional settings.
Collaborative creation is an important component of the curriculum. Students work together on a stage project presented to the public. This process allows them to experience the relationship between training, research, improvisation, composition, and performance.
The creations combine several aerial disciplines. Silks, hoop, trapeze, hammock, rope, and straps can all be integrated into a single performance. Other, less common techniques, such as hair suspension, may also appear in the students' creations.
Working collaboratively allows us to explore character development and physical dramaturgy. Technique thus becomes a language for constructing an artistic proposition.
Vaivé also offers intensive technical training in aerial acrobatics . This program allows students to follow a concentrated curriculum of 60 or 120 hours . It combines aerial techniques, physical preparation, and complementary disciplines.
Flexibility, contortion, and vertical movements can be incorporated into the program. Pedagogical and methodological concepts complement this training. It offers an attractive option for those unable to complete the full year-long program or who wish to quickly advance their skills.
Professional development isn't limited to training. Vaivé LAB is the project's creative hub. It hosts artist residencies, allowing artists and companies to develop new creations. The laboratory fosters research, experimentation, and collaboration. Calls for projects and open stages also give artists the opportunity to share their work with the public.
Vaivé thus becomes a place where works can gradually move from training to research, and then from research to the stage.
Artists also have a space for independent practice . The Nave Escuela and the Nave LAB can be used for free practice by reservation.
This possibility is particularly important for advanced artists and practitioners who need a regular space to maintain their technique.
Vaivé Circ thus functions as a true center for circus practice .
This continuity between initiation, improvement and professionalization constitutes one of the main characteristics of Vaivé Circ.
The school also places great emphasis on safety and body awareness. Physical conditioning, mobility, and progressive technical training complement the learning process. The teachers possess complementary expertise, allowing them to approach the disciplines with diverse methods.
The educational environment thus combines technical knowledge, body awareness, and artistic research.
The 2026-2027 season confirms the development of this offering.
The two courses thus allow amateur practice and intensive training to coexist in the same place.
Vaivé Circ thus contributes to the development of contemporary circus in the Valencia region. Its specialization in aerial disciplines gives it a particularly strong identity. Its highly diversified offering, however, also allows it to explore acrobatics, verticals, movement, physical conditioning, and stagecraft.
The presence of a two-year professional training program, an artistic laboratory, residencies, internships and an autonomous training space makes it simultaneously a school , a place for professional development and a center for circus creation .
