Vertical – Scuola di Circo Rimini

Vertical – Scuola di Circo is a school dedicated to acrobatic and aerial disciplines located in Rimini , on the Italian Adriatic coast.

The school was created in 2020 by Denise and Linda , two artists and teachers with backgrounds in gymnastics and aerial acrobatics.

Since its creation, Vertical has gradually developed and now has three training locations spread between the center of Rimini and the south of the city. The third location was inaugurated in October 2025 .

The school welcomes children, teenagers and adults alike and offers different levels allowing you to start without prior experience and then progress technically.

Aerial disciplines

Aerial disciplines form the core of Vertical's identity .

Aerial fabric

Aerial silks is offered to children from 8 years old as well as adults.

Practitioners gradually learn to move on the fabric, developing strength , coordination , mobility and body control .

The learning process allows participants to progress from the fundamentals to intermediate and then advanced techniques, depending on their level.

The aerial hoop

Aerial hoop is another important discipline at the school and is the subject of specific instruction for adults .

Vertical also has aerial straps in its professional equipment used for shows and performances.

Ground acrobatics

Ground acrobatics constitutes the second major focus of the school.

Specific courses are offered for children from 8 years old as well as for teenagers.

They allow the development of acrobatic basics, coordination, strength and body awareness necessary for progression in circus arts.

The verticals

Verticals are also the subject of a specialized course.

This course is primarily intended for adults wishing to deepen their work on hand balances.

Flexibility and contortion

Flexibility also has its own curriculum with Flexi courses.

These sessions are accessible to teenagers and adults and allow for the gradual development of mobility and flexibility .

Contortion work is also among the specialties associated with the school and the training of its teachers.

Gioco Circo: Circus for ages 5 and up

For younger children, Vertical offers Gioco Circo .

This course is designed for children aged 5 to 7 and constitutes their first approach to the circus world.

At this age, the work is adapted to the motor development of children and emphasizes discovery , movement and the pleasure of practicing .

This progression therefore allows children to start circus arts from the age of 5 before moving on, from the age of 8 , to more technical courses in acrobatics and aerial silks.

Internships, workshops and private lessons

Teaching is not limited to just weekly classes.

Vertical also organizes internships , workshops and private lessons for children, teenagers and adults.

These interventions can be adapted to the level of the participants, from an initiation to intermediate or advanced technical work.

The internships can also be devoted to artistic creation and research around movement .

This artistic dimension is important in the design of the school.

The founders are themselves artists and performers and seek to transmit not only mastery of the apparatus but also the ability to create movements and sequences intended for the stage.

Students can participate in shows organized by the school.

Professional entertainment activity

Vertical also has a professional entertainment business and can provide aerial services for various events.

The school has a professional self-supporting aerial structure for this purpose, allowing in particular the presentation of aerial silks, aerial hoop and straps acts.

The founders

Denise

Denise , co-founder of Vertical, has a background particularly linked to contemporary circus .

A former competitive gymnast, she holds a degree in sports and motor skills science.

She then received professional circus training at the FLIC Scuola di Circo in Turin.

Her experience combines teaching and performing arts, fields in which she has worked since the age of 18 .

Linda

Linda also comes from an artistic gymnastics background.

She has gradually specialized in aerial disciplines and notably has training as an aerial silks instructor obtained from the Benson Academy .

An expanded team

The team has grown with the development of the school.

The various courses are now divided among several specialized teachers, particularly in silks , hoop , acrobatics , verticals and flexibility .

A social and collective dimension

Vertical also places particular importance on the social aspect of the practice.

The school presents inclusion and the promotion of the collective dimension as being among its main objectives.

The aim is to create a community in which students can progress together and share their interest in acrobatic disciplines.

This philosophy has accompanied the rapid development of the structure since its creation in 2020 .

Rapid development

In just a few years, Vertical has grown from a project led by two teachers to a school using three different training spaces in Rimini.

The opening of a new facility in October 2025 is evidence of this growth.

Classes are now spread over several days of the week and in different neighborhoods in order to accommodate more participants.

The school also participates in the local life of Rimini through shows and public events.

In September 2026 , she notably participated in the Festa del Parco Pertini with a new performance by her students.

A school specializing in bodywork

Vertical is therefore a relatively young school compared to the historical structures of the Italian circus, but it now has a regular and structured activity.

Its profile is also quite different from multidisciplinary schools focused on juggling , unicycling or clowning .
