Vol'Tige — circus school (Montespan & Cintegabelle)

Founded in 2018 , Vol'Tige is a circus school located at two sites in Haute-Garonne, in Montespan and Cintegabelle. Its project combines amateur practice, advanced training, early childhood programs, workshops, flying trapeze, adapted circus, and interventions with numerous organizations in the region.

The school welcomes a particularly wide range of participants. Children can begin their first circus experiences as early as 10 months old through baby circus workshops and family workshops. They can then join regular introductory and advanced classes, while programs are also available for teenagers and adults.

Vol'Tige views circus arts as a tool for personal growth, self-confidence, and building social connections. Classes are led by qualified instructors, and the school emphasizes a caring, safe, and inclusive teaching approach, allowing everyone to progress according to their age, skill level, and abilities.

Multidisciplinary teaching

  • Aerial disciplines
  • Acrobatics
  • Balances on objects
  • Juggling
  • Acting and expression games

Regular instruction is multidisciplinary and allows students to explore the major branches of circus arts. Students can progress from introductory practice to advanced training.

Flying trapeze and installations

One of Vol'Tige's most distinctive features is its flying trapeze. The Montespan site boasts an 11-meter outdoor structure, a particularly rare piece of equipment in France. Specific training courses allow both beginners and experienced practitioners to discover or further develop their skills in this spectacular aerial discipline.

This specialization attracts participants from well beyond the school's immediate area. Flying trapeze workshops welcome children, teenagers, and adults, and can bring together practitioners from different regions of France. In 2026 , the school also expanded its facilities with an indoor hall equipped with an Olympic trampoline , allowing training to continue even when weather conditions prevent the use of the outdoor structure.

The Montespan site is located in a natural environment that allows the association to occasionally combine circus arts with outdoor activities. The Circus and Nature workshops thus blend circus arts, gardening, and environmental discovery.

Training courses are an important part of the activity. They are organized during school holidays at both sites and can take the form of full or half days, allowing participants to discover new disciplines or benefit from more intensive practice time than the weekly classes.

Early childhood plays a significant role in the project. The baby circus workshops welcome children from 10 months old, accompanied by an adult. Other sessions allow children up to 10 years old to participate with a parent, grandparent, or other relative. These sessions emphasize connection, physical exploration, play, and shared discovery.

Adapted circus and inclusion

Vol'Tige is developing a truly inclusive circus program. The school welcomes people with disabilities or specific needs and also works with specialized organizations. The team is trained in inclusive practices to adapt teaching methods to the abilities of the participants.

Those participating in these projects are not isolated from the rest of the school: they can, in particular, take part in the end-of-year shows alongside other students. This desire to create a truly inclusive circus is now a clearly defined focus of the association's mission.

Vol'Tige is a member of RECEO, which brings together schools in Occitanie committed to providing access to circus arts for people with specific needs. The association has also been affiliated with the French Federation of Adapted Sport since 2025 .

The school also develops proposals for older people: adapted circus is considered in a broad sense, both for people with disabilities, seniors and other audiences requiring a specific educational approach.

Outreach activities constitute another important aspect. Thanks to a specially equipped truck and mobile equipment, the team can intervene directly in schools, nurseries and other early childhood care facilities, early childhood centers, leisure centers, social centers, youth and community centers, works councils and various other structures in the area.

  • Daycare centers
  • Early childhood support center
  • Leisure centers
  • Community centers
  • MJC
  • Works councils
  • Other structures in the territory

The projects are tailored to the target audience and can range from one-off introductory sessions to more regular activities. This flexibility allows Vol'Tige to reach people who don't necessarily attend its weekly classes.

In Cintegabelle, the school has been located since its creation in 2018. The courses take place in the gymnasium of the Lionel Jospin college, which has rigging specifically designed for aerial disciplines, allowing regular courses to be offered to children, teenagers and adults in a suitable space.

Montespan's main site is located at 1 route de Saint-André, in Artigues . The association has progressively developed a true space dedicated to circus and nature, including its large flying trapeze structure.

Vol'Tige also organizes end-of-year shows, allowing students to present the work they developed during the season. In May 2026 , the performances were themed "La Belle Époque." The proceeds from these shows help fund the supervision, technicians, costumes, makeup, and sets.
