VolaVoilà is a circus school located in Casalpalocco , in the southwestern part of Rome.

Founded in February 2010 , it is now constituted as an amateur sports association.

However, its story begins several years earlier.

In 2003 , the cultural association Il Naso Rosso was created in Casalmoro, in the province of Mantua.

Its founders met during the Corso Superiore di Nouveau Cirque of the Bologna theatre school directed by Alessandra Galante Garrone .

At the end of this training, they decided to develop together a project dedicated to the Small Circus and circus-theatre .

The first contemporary circus course is created in Asola .

The group also develops street performances and shows under the name Circo della Luna .

In 2008 , under the name FourFull Circus , the artists won the FNAS Cantieri di Strada project.

The group's trajectory then evolved, and its members went their separate ways.

AnnaPaola Lorenzi moves to Rome.

In 2009 , she started teaching the Little Circus to children again in the Infernetto district.

This experience led in February 2010 to the creation of VolaVoilà with Giampiero Gostoli .

AnnaPaola Lorenzi is still today the founder as well as the artistic and educational director of the school.

Giampiero Gostoli is co-founder and president of the association.

The team has grown considerably since its early years.

Today it brings together many teachers and artists from the circus, acrobatics, theatre, dance and performing arts.

A real circus tent as a practice space

VolaVoilà is distinguished in particular by its place of practice.

The school presents itself as the first Roman school to have organized its classes under a real tent .

This big top is set up in a green environment in Casalpalocco .

The VolaVoilà big top is set up in Casalpalocco.

The use of a real circus space contributes greatly to the school's identity.

The students don't just practice in a gymnasium.

They work daily in an environment directly associated with entertainment and circus arts.

VolaVoilà reports welcoming around one hundred children, teenagers and adults every day.

A substantial and structured program

The school now has a particularly extensive program.

The courses are organized according to age, level and chosen disciplines .

Circummotor skills for the youngest children

The youngest children start with circus motor skills.

This approach uses circus disciplines as tools for psychomotor development.

The goal is not to immediately ask young children to master complex technical skills.

Movement , play , and exploration are the first steps.

  • The activities help to develop coordination and mobility .
  • The balance is gradually worked on.
  • Proprioception is also an important objective.
  • Children discover their bodies and learn to better understand their position in space.
  • The school also seeks to develop self-esteem .
  • Cooperation with other children is another essential dimension.

This teaching method then continues in the various youth groups.

The CircoMini , Circo Midi and Circo Maxi courses allow for progression adapted to age.

The great families of the circus

The students gradually discover several major circus families.

The subjects taught

The school structures its teaching around several major circus families.

  • Ground acrobatics : rolls, verticals, cartwheels and jumps.
  • Motor skills courses to develop physical abilities progressively.
  • Balancing : hemispheres, stilts, human pyramids and acrobalancing.
  • Juggling : balls, scarves, Chinese plates and hula-hoop.
  • Aerial disciplines : aerial silks, trapeze, aerial hoop and aerial rope.

These disciplines are particularly interesting for developing trust and cooperation.

A student must learn to understand the role of their partner .

The base and the flyer must work together.

Success therefore depends directly on listening and taking responsibility from everyone.

Scarves, in particular, allow certain trajectories to be introduced more slowly.

Aerial disciplines

Aerial disciplines occupy a particularly important place at VolaVoilà.

The school states that it was among the first Roman institutions to widely develop this type of course.

  • Aerial fabric is one of the main apparatuses.
  • The trapeze is also taught.
  • Aerial hoop is part of the offering.
  • Aerial rope is also used.

Students can therefore discover several forms of suspension and gradually develop a preference for certain apparatus.

Aerial courses are organized according to different groups and levels.

The current schedule includes, in particular, Discipline Aeree Junior .

Teenagers have access to Discipline Aeree Teen .

Adults can join Discipline Aeree Senior .

Some groups also allow you to focus on a single piece of equipment.

This organization promotes further technical advancement.

  • Students develop strength and mobility .
  • They are working on their coordination in space.
  • Aerial practice also allows one to explore creativity and expression .

VolaVoilà insists that air travel has an emotional dimension as well as a physical one .

The Chinese pole and specialized courses

However, the school is not limited to classic aerial apparatus.

The Chinese pole is explicitly part of the 2026-2027 programming.

An AcroCirco Teen + Palo Cinese Teen course is offered.

Advanced adults also have a slot combining Teen aerial disciplines and Senior Chinese pole .

The presence of the Chinese pole gives the school a particularly interesting technical offering.

The AcroCirco course helps to strengthen acrobatic work.

In contrast, the MultiCirco programs maintain a multidisciplinary approach.

A MultiCirco Junior is available.

The MultiCirco Teen allows teenagers to pursue a diverse training.

Adults have access to MultiCirco Senior .

This organization allows some students to maintain a general circus practice rather than specializing immediately.

Theatre, dance and creation

VolaVoilà also offers a Performative Technique course for adults.

The presence of this course shows that the school does not consider the circus solely as a set of physical techniques.

The transformation of technical skills in stagecraft is an important part of the project.

Students learn to use the disciplines in a creative process.

The theatre also has its own place.

Acting and recitation classes are included in the general program.

Dance further complements the offering with several practices.

Street dance, swing and tap dancing are among the dances offered.

This diversity reflects the very history of VolaVoilà, born from professionals trained in New Circus and circus-theatre .

The production of shows

The creation of shows is logically an important activity.

The school has its own production and performance activities.

Circus-theatre shows are presented to the public.

Acrobatics, juggling, dance and theatre can be associated with it.

The shows allow us to rediscover a contemporary circus aesthetic rather than a simple technical demonstration.

The students also participate in real end-of-year shows.

In 2026 , several distinct creations were presented for the Teen and Senior groups.

  • Students from MultiCirco , AcroCirco and Chinese pole notably participated in a joint creation.
  • The aerial discipline groups also had their own show.
  • The adults from Discipline Aeree , MultiCirco and Tecniche Performative presented another creation.

This organization allows students to transform the year's work into a stage experience .

Interventions in schools

VolaVoilà is also developing a significant activity with schools.

The school offers circus workshops directly for preschools, primary schools and middle schools.

Some projects can take up to eight months .

Others can be organised over a shorter period of about three months .

Circummotor skills are used to promote motor , emotional and relational development.

The establishments can also organize outings directly to the big top.

The students then discover the world of contemporary circus in its own environment.

School workshops include acrobatics, balance, juggling and aerial disciplines.

The project emphasizes a contemporary circus without animals .

The children themselves become the main protagonists of the experience.

  • The practice aims to develop coordination , strength , physical resistance , agility and mobility .
  • Concentration and theatrical expression are also worked on.

This school activity greatly reinforces the educational dimension of VolaVoilà.

The Circus Summer Camp and events

The school also develops a significant program during the holidays.

The Circus Summer Camp is now a recurring activity.

By 2026 , it was already in its thirteenth edition .

The children participate in various circus activities there.

The program also includes swimming , art workshops and other group activities.

The aim is to offer an immersion in the school environment during the summer holidays.

The Circus Party

The big top also hosts events and shows.

VolaVoilà organizes Circus Parties for children.

Some packages allow participants to discover the equipment and disciplines directly.

  • Motor skills courses combine balance , jumps and acrobatics .
  • Aerial fabric can be used to introduce the sensation of suspension.
  • Other events combine shows , clowns , magic , juggling or group games.

The school thus has a genuine cultural and event-based activity centered around its big top.

The venue has also hosted external professional programming.

Contemporary circus , physical theatre and music companies presented their creations there.

This opening allows the big top to function as a true cultural venue .

The 2026-2027 season

VolaVoilà is therefore not limited to a series of weekly courses.

The venue combines school , performance , creation , internships and events .

The 2026-2027 season confirms the scale achieved by the structure.

The schedule includes classes from Monday to Friday .

Several time slots are offered each day.

  • Children have access to CircoMini , Circo Midi and Circo Maxi .
  • Juniors can continue in aerial disciplines or MultiCirco .
  • Teenagers have access to MultiCirco Teen , Discipline Aeree Teen and AcroCirco with Chinese pole.
  • Adults can practice MultiCirco , aerial disciplines , Chinese pole and performance techniques .

This continuity allows a child to start very young and then continue for many years.

An experienced teaching team

The current team remains under the pedagogical and artistic direction of AnnaPaola Lorenzi .

She herself teaches aerial disciplines and circus motor skills .

Giulia Ogrizek is notably responsible for educational coordination and teaches MultiCirco and circomotricity .

Many other artists and teachers now complete the team.

The project thus retains its educational roots while having reached a significant size.

VoilaVoilà in the NetJuggler directory

According to the NetJuggler directory, VolaVoilà is a particularly interesting school to list in Rome.

  • It has a continuous history dating back to 2010 .
  • It has a real big top .
  • It welcomes children, teenagers and adults .
  • Its offering is truly multidisciplinary .
  • Ground acrobatics, juggling, balancing acts, human pyramids, acrobalancing, aerial silks, trapeze, hoop, aerial rope and Chinese pole are clearly documented.
  • Theatre and performance techniques make it possible to link technical learning to stage creation.
  • Finally, its school projects and its Circus Summer Camp reinforce its educational dimension.

VolaVoilà is therefore both a circus school , a place of creation and a cultural space dedicated to contemporary circus in Rome.
