Zirkus Jaloschum is a circus school for children and teenagers in the Staffelsee region of Bavaria. Part of the Sportverein Seehausen am Staffelsee, the project offers several weekly training sessions in circus arts, allowing young people to progressively develop their technical and artistic skills. Juggling, stilt walking, acrobatics, aerial disciplines, and the creation of acts are all part of its curriculum, which includes performances and numerous appearances at regional events.
Zirkus Jaloschum is an educational circus for children and teenagers in the Staffelsee region of Upper Bavaria. Based between Uffing and Seehausen am Staffelsee, it has been developing a regular practice of circus arts for many years, combining technical learning, creativity, performance and community life.
Created in the late 1990s, Zirkus Jaloschum celebrated its twentieth anniversary in 2019. It thus has more than twenty-five years of experience in transmitting circus arts to young people.
The project is now integrated into the Sportverein Seehausen am Staffelsee , within which the circus constitutes a discipline in its own right.
Training sessions take place several times a week in the Seehausen sports hall.
This organization allows for genuine, regular practice, very different from a simple internship or a one-off event.
Young participants discover different families of circus arts and can gradually deepen their knowledge of the techniques that interest them.
Juggling is one of Jaloschum's historical practices.
Children learn to manipulate different objects and thus develop coordination, precision, concentration and perseverance.
Stilt walking and various skill and balance exercises are also among the activities regularly presented by the circus.
Aerial disciplines also occupy a place in teaching.
Zirkus Jaloschum offers aerial silks and organizes workshops allowing young people to discover this practice in suitable conditions.
Acrobatics and body work complement the learning.
However, training does not stop at the acquisition of individual techniques.
The young people gradually learn to transform their skills into real circus acts.
The creation, staging and presentation in front of an audience are therefore an integral part of the educational project.
Zirkus Jaloschum regularly participates in events in the Staffelsee region and more broadly in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district.
The young artists present their acts at parties and festivals and at the same time offer workshops allowing the public to discover certain techniques.
This stage-based dimension gives a concrete objective to the learning achieved during training.
It also allows children and teenagers to develop their confidence, their presence in front of an audience and their ability to work collectively.
Zirkus Jaloschum places particular importance on the transmission between generations of practitioners.
Young people who have already acquired several years of experience can gradually learn to mentor other participants.
The structure notably organizes a genuine qualification of Jugendübungsleiter, intended for young people and adults wishing to intervene in educational circus for children and adolescents.
This training follows the framework of the Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft Zirkuspädagogik , the leading German organization in the field of circus pedagogy.
The course includes several modules spread over several months and represents more than one hundred hours of training.
Participants study various circus disciplines as well as safety, prevention, pedagogy, teaching methodology and the construction of acts.
This approach allows former students to gradually become assistants and then group leaders.
It also ensures educational continuity within the project.
Zirkus Jaloschum is a member of the Bavarian circus pedagogy network, the Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft Zirkuspädagogik Bayern .
He thus participates in a regional network bringing together the main schools, children's circuses and circus education structures in Bavaria.
In addition to his regular training, Jaloschum also participates in various projects aimed at introducing the circus to the general public.
During festivals, children can, for example, try juggling, stilt walking and various skill games under the guidance of the team.
In 2026, Zirkus Jaloschum continues to combine circus school, training of young supervisors, performances and discovery activities.
Its long history, weekly training sessions and involvement in professional circus education networks make it a true circus school for children and teenagers in the Staffelsee region.
