The FC Weil Circus Group is a circus group for children and teenagers, integrated into the gymnastics section of FC Weil eV, in Weil in the Landkreis Landsberg am Lech, in Bavaria.

FC Weil is an important local sports association founded in 1928. Today it offers football , gymnastics , tennis and volleyball and has more than a thousand members.

The gymnastics section has existed since 1969 and today offers the most diverse range of activities in the club. These include apparatus gymnastics, acrobatics, dance, children's activities, and circus arts.

The Zirkusgruppe: an activity in its own right

The Zirkusgruppe constitutes a fully-fledged activity within the " Turnen und Akrobatik " field. It allows children and teenagers to regularly discover different disciplines from the circus arts.

The disciplines offered

Unicycling is one of the main activities offered. Young people gradually learn to find their balance, to move around, and then to master different techniques.

Juggling also plays an important role. It helps develop hand-eye coordination, concentration, rhythm, and perseverance.

Acrobatics is another major category of disciplines taught. It allows children to better control their bodies while developing strength, mobility, and coordination.

The balance ball is also one of the activities explicitly offered by the group. It allows participants to work on stability, posture, and movement control.

The team also mentions the possibility of practicing aerial acrobatics . This discipline is among the skills sought in individuals joining the group's leadership team.

Objectives beyond technology

The teaching is not limited to the technical mastery of the different disciplines. The Zirkusgruppe aims to use the circus to develop various physical and personal qualities in the young participants.

Balance and coordination are naturally two important aspects, particularly through unicycling, juggling and balance ball.

Strength and body control are more heavily relied upon in the various forms of acrobatics.

The organizers also want to allow young artists to gradually surpass what they thought they were capable of achieving. Learning a new skill thus becomes an experience of personal growth .

Group practice also plays an important role. Children and teenagers do not only train individually: they learn to create and move together.

This collective dimension allows for the development of mutual support , listening and cooperation among participants.

Creativity is also encouraged. The group leaders aim to build the program with the children and leave room for new ideas.

Supervision and development

The training is provided by a team from the gymnastics section with experience in the various disciplines.

The person currently designated as the person in charge of the Zirkusgruppe is Annalena Golik .

The group's growth has led FC Weil to seek new assistants and coaches in 2026 to strengthen the existing team.

The club is particularly looking for people with experience in juggling , unicycling , ground acrobatics or aerial acrobatics who wish to pass on their knowledge to children.

This search for supervisors confirms the current development of the activity and the club's desire to strengthen its circus offering.

Demand from families is also significant: the circus course is currently full and can no longer temporarily accept new participants.

A synergy with gymnastics

The Zirkusgruppe benefits from its integration into a section that also has a strong experience in gymnastics and acrobatics.

Young people can thus develop in a sporting environment with complementary skills in apparatus gymnastics , trampoline , acrobatics and different forms of physical preparation.

This close relationship between gymnastics and circus makes it possible to develop a solid physical foundation that can then be used in circus disciplines.

The approach remains decidedly playful . FC Weil presents its activity as an immersion in the world of the circus in which pleasure and discovery occupy an essential place.

A small, non-profit circus school

The FC Weil Circus Group thus constitutes a small local associative circus school allowing children and teenagers to regularly practice several disciplines in a structured sporting environment.

With unicycling, juggling, acrobatics, balance ball and an opening towards aerial disciplines, it offers a sufficiently diverse range to allow young people to discover several facets of circus arts.

Its current development, the strong demand from families and the recruitment of new supervisors in 2026 show that it is a very active activity within FC Weil.
