Zirkusvirus Landsberg is a circus school and educational association founded in 2018 in Landsberg am Lech, Bavaria. It offers weekly training for children, teenagers, and adults in aerial and ground acrobatics, juggling, and various circus disciplines. Inclusive in its approach, the association welcomes people with and without disabilities and also develops circus camps, shows, youth projects, and participatory activities.
Zirkusvirus Landsberg is an educational circus association based in Landsberg am Lech, Bavaria. It develops regular activities allowing children, teenagers and adults to discover and explore circus arts in a collective, creative and inclusive environment.
The Kinder- und Jugendförderverein Zirkusvirus Landsberg eV association was established in early 2018 with more than forty founding members.
The project was born from the meeting of several people who have shared for several years a common passion for circus pedagogy and already possess experience in the voluntary organization of stays and activities for children and teenagers.
Their goal was to create a structure capable of sustainably developing educational circus activities in the city and throughout the district of Landsberg am Lech.
Zirkusvirus is organizing weekly training sessions today.
One group is specifically for children up to 14 years old .
Teenagers and adults also have open time slots allowing them to practice regularly.
These training sessions welcome both beginners and practitioners who have already acquired circus experience.
The teaching is intentionally multidisciplinary .
Floor acrobatics is one of the major categories practiced during training.
Aerial disciplines also occupy an important place in the association's activities.
Different juggling techniques simultaneously help to develop coordination, precision, concentration and creativity.
The diversity of disciplines is particularly evident in the large circus camp organized by Zirkusvirus.
Children can practice acrobatics, trapeze, tightrope walking, juggling, unicycling, clowning and diabolo.
This approach allows young participants to experience different circus families before gradually developing their preferences.
Learning is not limited to technical mastery.
Zirkusvirus views circus pedagogy as a tool enabling children and teenagers to discover their abilities, to experiment, to develop their imagination and to gradually overcome certain limits.
Collective life also occupies an essential place in the project.
The association aims to create a space where participants learn from each other and develop mutual support , responsibility and trust .
Inclusion is one of the fundamental principles of Zirkusvirus.
The activities are explicitly open to people with or without disabilities and regardless of their origin.
The association thus affirms its desire to concretely experience the principles of inclusion and integration through its circus activities.
Specific initiatives also allow people with different disabilities to discover circus arts.
Activities can be adapted to the physical abilities of participants, including people using wheelchairs.
Juggling, pea manipulation, Chinese plates, tightrope walking and aerial acrobatics can thus be used within the framework of these inclusive projects.
The Kinderzirkuscamp Gogolori is one of the highlights of the year.
For a week, the children live together on a campsite and prepare different circus creations.
They choose and experiment with several disciplines before collectively building acts.
The stay ends with a grand gala presented under a big top in front of families and loved ones.
The camp is not limited to the circus: group games, olympiads, songs around the fire and festive activities also contribute to building group life.
Zirkusvirus also develops an important stage dimension .
Young people and facilitators participate in galas and various cultural events organized in Landsberg.
The association also has a troupe specializing in fire arts, Flamo Cirko .
This training program offers creations combining dance with fire, fire juggling and various techniques of manipulation and body contact.
Zirkusvirus thus participates in local cultural life while offering practitioners the opportunity to test their learning on stage and in front of an audience.
The association also offers participatory workshops during festivals, local events, school events, family celebrations or professional events.
These activities may include introductions to circus arts, children's entertainment, or even shows.
Passing on knowledge to young people is a particularly important element in the functioning of the association.
Zirkusvirus has its own Jugendgruppe , or youth group, and is gradually involving young people in the life and organization of projects.
This empowerment helps to ensure the transmission of knowledge and the continuity of the association.
The economic system also seeks to promote accessibility.
Membership fees are structured to allow families with different means to participate in activities, in accordance with the association's desire to make the circus accessible to as many people as possible.
Zirkusvirus Landsberg is therefore much more than just an organizer of training courses.
With its weekly training sessions, children's, teenagers' and adults' groups, camps, shows, inclusive actions and transmission projects, the association constitutes a true amateur school of circus arts practice in Landsberg am Lech.
