Information about the manufacturer TSHAKA:
TSHAKA are handmade from durable materials by adults under the supervision of the International Labour Organization. They are the result of more than 20 years of experimentation in animation, education, motor skills and creativity with diverse audiences. The TSHAKA brand develops its entire activity around the 9 fundamental MOOV's and the playful dynamic "Move and Play".
Caution : Avoid rough or abrasive surfaces to preserve the ball coating for longer. Store them in a suitable container if you wish to protect them.
Instructions for use:
Gradually introduce the 9 MOOV' TSHAKA (TOSS, KATCH, SMOOZ, STYLEE…) then combine them to create small COMBOS. This refill is ideal for increasing the number of participants or refreshing your creative workshops.
Some basic MOOV's to get started:
- TOSS : Throw the TSHAKA upwards, palm open. Ideal for working on precision and control.
- KATCH : Catch the ball gently with your hand. Perfect for hand-eye coordination.
- SMOOZ : Cushioning the ball with a part of the body (hand, arm, shoulder…). Develops sensitivity of movement.
- STYLISH : Add an expressive gesture while the TSHAKA is in the air (clap, rotation, stylish pause). Encourages creativity.
- ROLL : Rolling the ball over a part of the body (arm, hand). Works on the fluidity and continuity of movement.
- TSHAK' : Hit the ball with a part of your body or an article of clothing (palm, foot, stretched t-shirt). A fun and dynamic move that's very popular!
By combining these simple gestures, you can quickly create fun COMBOS , accessible to all levels and suitable for all age groups.
Simple COMBOS ideas to get started:
- TOSS → KATCH : Throw the TSHAKA and then catch it immediately. An ideal sequence for working on trajectory and accuracy.
- TOSS → SMOOZ → KATCH : Throw, cushion with the back of the hand, then catch. Perfect for introducing fluidity of movement.
- ROLL → KATCH : Roll the TSHAKA on your forearm or hand, then grab it. Very fun and accessible to all.
- KATCH → STYLEE → KATCH : Catch, make a small stylish gesture (clap, spin, pause), then catch again. Encourages expression and creativity.
- TSHAK' → TOSS → KATCH : Strike the ball with the palm to send it into the air, then follow up with a throw and a catch.
- TOSS → TOSS → KATCH : Perform two successive throws before catching. Perfect for introducing rhythm and coordination.
These sequences can be adapted for all ages. They provide an ideal basis for creating your own sequences, challenges, or mini-choreographies.
Some simple group games with the TSHAKA:
- The TOSS Circle : The participants form a circle and throw the TSHAKA by performing a simple TOSS. Objective: to keep the ball in the air as long as possible without it touching the ground. Ideal for coordination and communication between players.
- The 4Kré : Four players stand in a square. Each reception must be followed by a different MOOV (TOSS, KATCH, SMOOZ, STYLEE…). Objective: to vary the movements and develop reactivity.
- The Freestyle Relay : In teams, each player performs a MOOV or a small COMBO before passing the TSHAKA to his teammate. Objective: to encourage creativity, collaboration and continuous movement.
- The Brazilian woman : Players must keep the TSHAKA moving by striking it only with their feet (KICK') or hands (TSHAK'). Objective: to work on rhythm, positioning and reflexes.
- Memory Mode : The first player performs a simple action. The next player must reproduce it and then add another. Objective: to strengthen motor and collective memory, perfect for all levels.
These games can be adapted to suit different ages, the number of participants, and the overall skill level of the group. They are perfect for creating a dynamic workshop environment, fostering team cohesion, and introducing COMBOS in a fun way.
