Russian Grip Large Fire Fans - Gora®

These Russian Grip Large fire fans are designed for stage and artistic performances . Their imposing structure combines lightness , maneuverability and maximum visual range . The fan measures 50 cm in height (from the bottom of the handle to the wick) and 82 cm in span from one end to the other. The "fin" shape - that is, the curved outer tips - allows the execution of technical figures such as movements behind the back with more fluidity. The Russian Grip type handle is made of 10 mm stainless steel tube, with an internal diameter of 8.8 cm . Each fan weighs 365 g .

I find that these fans offer a good compromise between aesthetics and technique . Their large size allows for a strong presence on stage, comparable to that of folding fans, while remaining easy to handle . The curved shape of the tips provides additional comfort during backward movements, which is rarely the case with this type of equipment. However, I recommend not using them for throws , because their structure, although solid, is not designed to withstand repeated falls.

When using fans, be careful of the heat released when lighting them. Also, be aware of the wind direction before engaging in a performance.

NetJuggler recommends wearing Kevlar gloves , as they provide excellent protection against heat and flames. If you are not choosing Kevlar gloves for aesthetic reasons, consider whether your gloves are made of synthetic materials as there is a real risk of burns .

As the fans are quite thin, be sure to transport them safely thanks to a specially designed cover .
