The result of a collaboration between ND Juggling , Albert Lucas Moreira and Niels Duinker , this box embodies a new generation of cigar boxes for juggling. The Moreira model combines tradition, innovation and engineering to offer equipment accessible to ambitious beginners while meeting the demands of professionals.

Inspired by decades of experience, this box completely rethinks the standards of box juggling. Made of high-quality polyethylene , with soft silicone tips , it combines strength, comfort and controlled lightness. Its ergonomic shape has been developed according to engineering principles to suit a wide variety of hand sizes, while limiting muscle fatigue during long training sessions.

The boxes are easy to grasp , even for small hands or children, making learning more fluid and intuitive. Thanks to their optimized shape and non-slip surface , they offer excellent control of sliding and bouncing. A bit of history and context:

Cigar box juggling has a rich tradition, from Cinquevalli and Salerno to WC Fields, who was a true master. Yet traditional models had their limitations...

Albert Moreira , founder of the famous Los Gatos Trio and mentor to his son Albert Lucas Moreira , always admired this discipline but criticized the impractical square shape of the old boxes. In discussions with renowned artists such as Bela Kremo or Francis Brunn, he accumulated valuable ideas that were passed on to his son, known for his famous "Albert Throws" and organizer of the Lucas Cup within the IJA.

With the participation of Niels Duinker – an engineer by training and creator of numerous juggling accessories such as Bottle Clubs and Cuphead 2.0 – and that of Will Oltman in the engineering part, this project was born: a redesigned, modernized, optimized cigar box.

The Moreira box is the culmination of this vision: a tool for modern jugglers, combining ergonomics, aesthetics and robustness.

Here's a beginner's tutorial on cigar boxes by Nils Duinker. The tutorial is in English, but the pictures speak for themselves!

Nils Duinker offers an introduction to juggling with cigar boxes. He begins by explaining the importance of posture, emphasizing keeping your back straight and coordinating the movements of your arms, legs, and back to achieve a fluid gesture. The tutorial uses three classic boxes, and the first trick covered is the "180° spin," which involves rotating one outer box while holding the other two in place. He guides the viewer step by step through the movements, demonstrating the precise gestures to adopt.

The rest of the video introduces other fundamental figures such as the "takeout" , where the middle box is removed while all three are in the air, and then the "tumble over" , a variation of the takeout where one box rotates as it falls. Nils compares some of the sequences to those of three-ball juggling to make it easier to understand. He encourages viewers to practice regularly to improve.
