Clown & Stage Presence Workshops 2026 – Compagnie Les Clowns (Lille & Paris)

The Compagnie Les Clowns, directed by Istvan Van Heuverzwyn, is offering a rich program of clowning, stage presence, artistic coaching, and free dance workshops throughout 2026 in Lille and Paris. These workshops are designed for both professional and amateur artists, as well as anyone wishing to develop their creativity, self-confidence, expression, and stage presence through the performing arts.

Founded on a deeply human approach, the teaching methods of Compagnie Les Clowns draw upon techniques from theatre, clowning, non-verbal performance, Nonviolent Communication (NVC), improvisation, emotional regulation, and physical expression. The goal is to guide each participant in discovering their authenticity, creativity, and ability to fully connect with others, both on stage and in life.

The 2026 program is particularly comprehensive and offers several training formats adapted to the different levels and objectives of each individual.

The two-day introductory workshops offer a first immersion into the world of clowning and stage presence. In Lille, they will take place on July 4 and 5, August 22 and 23, October 3 and 4, November 28 and 29, and December 19 and 20, 2026. In Paris, they are scheduled for September 5 and 6, October 17 and 18, November 14 and 15, and December 5 and 6, 2026.

To delve deeper, participants can join a seven-day cycle, spread over several months, offering progressive support in their artistic and personal development. In Lille, this cycle takes place on September 20, October 3 and 4, November 28 and 29, and December 19 and 20, 2026. In Paris, it includes September 26, October 17 and 18, November 14 and 15, and December 5 and 6, 2026.

Those wishing to deepen their practice can participate in the Level 1 intensive workshops, organized over five days. Three sessions are offered in Lille: from July 4 to 8, from August 22 to 26, and from December 19 to 23, 2026. In Paris, a single session is organized from October 17 to 21, 2026.

More experienced practitioners can join the Creation workshops (Level 2), dedicated to artistic research, character creation, stage work, and the development of clowning techniques. These six-day workshops will take place in Lille from July 10 to 15, August 26 to 30, and December 25 to 30, 2026, as well as in Paris from October 22 to 27, 2026.

Alongside the workshops, the company offers personalized artistic coaching for actors, circus performers, dancers, storytellers, musicians, speakers, or anyone wishing to prepare for a performance, competition, public speaking engagement, or develop their stage presence. Each coaching program is tailored to the participant's specific goals.

The Compagnie Les Clowns also organizes free and intuitive dance workshops in Lille, inviting everyone to explore movement as a means of expression, develop their physical presence, and unleash their creativity in a supportive environment. Sessions are scheduled for June 26, July 10, August 28, September 5, September 18, October 2, October 23, November 13, November 27, December 4, and December 18, with a special early evening workshop on December 20, 2026.

All workshops are led by Istvan Van Heuverzwyn, an artist, clown, director, actor, and certified coach. Passionate about the performing arts since the age of twelve, he trained with international figures such as Marcel Marceau, the Jacques Lecoq School, Gabriel Chamé, Ami Hattab, and at Le Samovar, before developing, over more than twenty years, an original method blending theater, clowning, emotional intelligence, and personal development. Today, he works with both artists and companies to develop self-confidence, expression, creativity, and presence.

Training courses may be eligible for funding by OPCOs, AFDAS or France Travail, depending on the funding conditions in force.

Prices vary depending on the chosen program. Introductory workshops start at €195 in Lille and €210 in Paris, with reduced rates for those receiving RSA benefits or earning less than the minimum wage. Five-day intensive workshops start at €460, while six-day Creation workshops are offered at €640. Specific rates are also available for companies and individual coaching sessions.
