With Dust, Yann Frisch has created a profoundly unique work where contemporary theatre and new magic intertwine to give birth to an extraordinary sensory and emotional experience. After making a lasting impression with The Cassandra Syndrome, the artist this time steps away from the stage to entrust his world to a remarkable cast of actors, while continuing his exploration of illusion, the invisible, and the mysteries of perception.

At the heart of this story lies a couple confronted with a situation as overwhelming as it is inexplicable. André, a philosopher, watches his wife Clémence, a psychoanalyst, gradually descend into a state that defies all logic. Overwhelmed by a profound mystical crisis, she seems to be experiencing extraordinary phenomena that no one can truly comprehend. Is it a genuine spiritual revelation or the first signs of a mental disturbance? The boundary between reality and imagination gradually blurs, giving way to doubt, incomprehension, and a multitude of unsettling phenomena.

As the story unfolds, the viewer also loses their bearings. The sets seem to transform before their eyes, space distorts, objects appear and disappear, and certainties waver. Magic never merely illustrates the narrative; it becomes its very essence. Each illusion accompanies the characters' emotions and contributes to the storytelling, creating a universe where the impossible suddenly seems natural.

True to his aesthetic, Yann Frisch blends poetry, subtle humor, melancholy, philosophy, and wonder with rare finesse. His work does not seek to impress through technical demonstration but rather to provoke a genuine unease in the viewer, inviting them to question their perception of the world and to accept that some things may remain inexplicable.

Dust explores numerous universal themes: love in the face of illness or the incomprehensible, faith, doubt, madness, the limits of reason, the relationship between science and spirituality, but also our profound need to find meaning in what transcends us. The performance questions our way of looking at the world and believing what we see, in an era where certainties seem constantly challenged.

The staging is distinguished by its great visual inventiveness. The magical effects are seamlessly integrated into the performances and the set design, creating a succession of scenes of great visual beauty. The lighting, soundscapes, and spatial transformations all contribute to this total immersion, where the spectator constantly oscillates between wonder, emotion, and awe.

Supported by a top-level cast, the show brings together Anne Rotger, Jérôme Kircher, Lucie Grunstein, Céline Bary, Zoé Bouchicot, Claire Jouet-Pastré, Julien Michenaud and Monika Schwarzl, who embody with great sensitivity the characters of this story where every emotion resonates with the illusions that come to life on stage.

More than just a magic show, Poussières is a truly immersive theatrical experience that deliberately blurs the lines between visible and invisible, between reality and imagination. Each scene becomes an invitation to accept that not everything can always be explained and that wonder can sometimes emerge from the cracks in everyday life.

Suitable for ages 12 and up, this production will appeal to contemporary theatre enthusiasts as well as those passionate about new magic, contemporary circus, and innovative artistic experiences. For 1 hour and 20 minutes, the audience is swept away on a fascinating mental journey where emotion arises as much from the characters as from the extraordinary phenomena that seem to defy all the laws of reality.

Presented at the EMC – Espace Marcel-Carné in Saint-Michel-sur-Orge on December 17 and 18, 2026 at 8:30 pm, Poussières stands out as one of Yann Frisch's most ambitious and poetic creations.
