Ven – Si Seulement Company

What is essential is invisible to the eyes.

With Ven, Compagnie Si Seulement presents a contemporary circus work of rare delicacy, where technical prowess gives way to emotion and human connection. Presented at the Cirque Jules Verne – Pôle National Cirque Amiens, as part of La Nuit du Cirque 2026, this intimate performance invites spectators to slow down, to observe differently, and to allow themselves to be touched by the beauty of the invisible bonds that unite us.

At the center of the stage, a simple circle rests on the floor. Nothing more. Yet this minimal space becomes an infinite playground for exploration, where María del Mar Reyes and Hugo Ragetly construct a remarkably intense physical dialogue. Inside this circle, anything is possible; outside, the audience is invited to share a suspended moment where emotions take precedence over words.

The title Ven has several meanings. In Spanish, it means "come," an invitation to approach, to share, and to fully experience the present moment. It also evokes "they see," reminding us that the performance invites us to look differently: not just with our eyes, but with all our senses. Here, bodies speak, breaths become a language, and silences take on as much importance as movements.

The creation is based on an extremely refined style, where every gesture is essential. The two artists develop a relationship of absolute trust that gradually builds before the audience's eyes. They support each other, seek each other out, sometimes surrender to each other, before finding a shared equilibrium in a constant dance between strength and fragility.

The circus disciplines intertwine with remarkable fluidity. Juggling, discreet yet ever-present, becomes a natural extension of movement. Balance reflects mutual trust. The Chinese pole adds verticality and tension, while dance connects each sequence in an organic continuity. The acrobatic lifts impress as much by their precision as by the grace with which they are executed, giving the impression that the bodies are floating in space.

Far from seeking demonstration or spectacular feat, Ven prioritizes the sincerity of the gesture. Each figure tells a profoundly human story: trust, listening, doubt, surrender, complicity, or even vulnerability. This apparent simplicity conceals extremely precise work where every movement is conceived to serve the emotional narrative.

María del Mar Reyes and Hugo Ragetly themselves created and perform this piece with remarkable precision. Their rapport, forged through years of working together, shines through in every glance, every breath, and every movement. The performance thus gives the impression of witnessing an intimate dialogue in which the audience discreetly becomes a privileged observer.

Emmanuelle Pépin's outside perspective complements this sensitive writing, refining the dramaturgical intentions and the relationships between the performers. Delphine Thomas's lighting design, who is also responsible for stage management, subtly underscores the different atmospheres without ever distracting the artists. Tour management is handled by Léa Lhomme, ensuring the smooth running of this production in performance.

For 45 minutes, the audience is invited to experience an immersive performance where emotions replace artifice. The deliberately minimalist stage space gives full rein to the bodies and movement, allowing the audience to perceive every detail, every fragile balance, and every moment of suspension. This intimacy creates an almost intimate connection between the artists and the spectators.

Presented on Friday, November 13, 2026 at 2:15 p.m. and then on Saturday, November 14, 2026 at 8:00 p.m., Ven is accessible to all audiences. Its visual poetry and universal language allow everyone, regardless of age or familiarity with contemporary circus, to be swept away by this moving adventure.

The show is part of the 2026-2027 season program of the Cirque Jules Verne – Pôle National Cirque Amiens and participates in La Nuit du Cirque, a national event celebrating the richness and diversity of contemporary circus arts. It is also sponsored by Sara Desprez, highlighting its importance within this program.

The evening of Saturday, November 14th will continue with a free electropop DJ set, "The Pleasure of Giving," following the performance. Open to all and lasting approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, this convivial event will allow the audience to extend the artistic experience in a festive atmosphere.

Through Ven, Compagnie Si Seulement reminds us that contemporary circus is much more than a series of technical feats. It is an art capable of expressing the deepest emotions with infinite delicacy, using only the language of the body, movement, and trust. This sensitive creation celebrates the beauty of human relationships, those invisible bonds that unite us without always being seen, and offers a suspended moment where everyone is invited to slow down, feel, and simply be. A true ode to presence and listening to others, Ven is a profoundly moving artistic experience that leaves a lasting impression on the audience.
