Circus masterclass – Season 2026-2027 – La Batoude (Beauvais) From 09 at 00:00 to 13 august 2027
The 2027 Summer Circus Camp, organized by Cirque Toamême, invites children aged 6 and up to experience a week full of discovery, creativity, and learning, from August 9th to 13th, 2027 in Fribourg, Switzerland. During the school holidays, this five-day immersion allows young participants to be introduced to circus arts in a supportive, fun environment, guided by a team of passionate professionals.
Throughout the week, children discover a wide range of circus disciplines such as acrobatics, juggling, trapeze, tightrope walking, unicycling, and other techniques adapted to their age and skill level. The days alternate between technical workshops, group games, cooperative activities, and moments of artistic expression. Each child progresses at their own pace, developing their motor skills, balance, coordination, flexibility, and creativity, while gaining self-confidence and learning to work with others.
The workshop takes place in the gymnasium of the Sisters of St. Ursula, located at Route des Bonnesfontaines 5 in Fribourg, a space specially designed for circus arts. Activities are held Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The week concludes with a final performance for families on Friday at 4:30 p.m., allowing children to share the acts and creations they have prepared throughout the week with their loved ones.
Participants should bring comfortable clothing, rhythmic gymnastics shoes, a packed lunch, snacks, and a water bottle for each day. Lunch will be provided on-site, and changing facilities are available.
To make things easier for families, Cirque Toamême offers an after-school care service for an additional fee of CHF 30 (approximately €32.20). Children can be cared for Monday through Thursday from 8:15 to 9:00 a.m. and then from 4:00 to 4:45 p.m., as well as on Friday from 9:15 to 10:00 a.m.
The workshop fee is CHF 260 (approximately €279.04) for the five days. Families registered for the weekly classes automatically become members of the Cirque Toamême association, with an annual membership fee of CHF 50 (approximately €53.66), in accordance with the association's terms and conditions. Registration is only confirmed after online order confirmation. If you do not receive a confirmation message, please check your spam/junk mail folder.
Cirque Toamême reserves the right to cancel the workshop if there are insufficient registrations. In this case, registered participants will be notified no later than thirty days before the start of the workshop.
For over 30 years, Cirque Toamême has brought children, teenagers, and adults together in Fribourg through the circus arts. The school offers year-round classes, holiday workshops, introductory sessions, performances, and artistic creation projects that lead to tours in Switzerland and abroad. Located since 2016 in the former Maigrauge thermal power plant buildings in Fribourg's Old Town, it is part of several leading networks, including the Swiss Federation of Circus Schools (FSEC), Pro Cirque, Frisbee, and the Youth & Sport (J+S) program. Its educational approach is based on the progressive learning of circus techniques, allowing everyone to develop their physical, artistic, social, and emotional abilities in an environment that fosters personal growth, cooperation, and the joy of creation.
