Club Med, in partnership with JMSA Formation Conseil and France Travail, is recruiting 15 Circus Arts Instructors (M/F) for an 11-month apprenticeship leading to the Professional Qualification in Leisure and Tourism Activities. This professional training program is designed for circus arts enthusiasts who wish to turn their passion into a career and join the teams at Club Med Resorts in France or Europe. It offers a comprehensive curriculum combining technical training, practical experience, teaching skills, tourism activities, and live performance.
The program begins with a Collective Operational Preparation for Employment (POEC) program, running from September 30 to December 18, 2026. This period allows future apprentices to acquire or consolidate essential skills before officially starting their apprenticeship contract. The fixed-term apprenticeship contract then runs from January 4 to December 10, 2027, a total of 11 months, during which apprentices alternate between the JMSA training center in Clermont-Ferrand and Club Med Resorts. The time spent at the resorts provides a complete immersion in the daily lives of the entertainment teams. Apprentices are provided with meals and accommodation, according to Club Med's terms and conditions, only during their time at the resorts.
The training costs are fully covered by Club Med. Apprentices receive remuneration throughout the duration of their contract, in accordance with the legal provisions applicable to apprenticeship contracts. Upon completion of the program, they obtain the Professional Title of Leisure and Tourism Activities Leader, a recognized certification that opens doors to careers in tourism, leisure, and sports and cultural activities, both within Club Med and in other holiday and leisure establishments.
On a daily basis, future Club Med GOs learn to welcome and support an international clientele of adults, teenagers, and children. Their main mission is to create memorable experiences for vacationers by encouraging them to push their limits in a safe, friendly, and supportive environment. They become ambassadors of the Club Med spirit, whose mission is to create unforgettable memories while embodying the company's five core values: Kindness, Freedom, Responsibility, Pioneering Spirit, and Multiculturalism.
The main discipline taught is the flying trapeze, a true signature of the circus activities offered by Club Med. Apprentices learn to introduce participants to the sport, guide them in their progression, and help them discover the sensations of flight safely. They are trained in specific flying trapeze techniques, including catching, weaving, and laying out, so they can explain, demonstrate, and ensure the safety of these movements for practitioners. They also learn to adapt their advice to each individual's age, physical abilities, and skill level to promote personalized progress.
In addition to the flying trapeze, future instructors learn to lead other circus arts disciplines and acrobatic activities offered at the resorts. They work with juggling, trampoline, tightrope walking, and bungee jumping, offering introductory sessions, workshops, and advanced training tailored to different audiences. They learn to design engaging sessions, organize activities based on participants' skill levels, and progressively develop participants while ensuring their safety.
The training also develops the essential teaching skills for the profession. Apprentices learn to design activity programs tailored to specific audiences, create event entertainment, prepare their sessions, manage a group, communicate with audiences of diverse ages and nationalities, and share their passion for circus arts in a friendly atmosphere. They discover facilitation techniques, group management, public speaking, communication with vacationers, and methods for fostering participant loyalty throughout their stay.
The future entertainers also participate in all aspects of the resort's artistic life. They take part in daily training sessions, prepare acts for guests, and participate in the circus shows organized during the evenings. Like all GOs (Gentils Organisateurs), they can swap their work clothes for stage costumes to showcase their artistic talents to the guests. This immersive experience allows them to discover the behind-the-scenes aspects of live performance, teamwork, physical preparation, act rehearsals, managing stage fright, and the artistic demands specific to performances.
The apprentices' responsibilities also include promoting circus activities within the resort. They learn to welcome vacationers, present the various activities offered, encourage participation, organize introductory sessions, monitor participants, and contribute to creating a warm and dynamic atmosphere. They are responsible for ensuring compliance with the general organizational, supervisory, and activity guidelines, overseeing the smooth running of sessions, maintaining equipment and facilities daily, and guaranteeing adherence to Club Med's hygiene and safety regulations.
The job requires excellent physical condition, energy, availability, and a genuine knack for interpersonal skills. Candidates must be over 18 and under 30 (29 years old) at the time of signing the contract. They must be citizens of the European Union or hold a residence permit allowing them to work in France for the entire duration of the contract. "Study and Work" and "Working Holiday" permits are not accepted. Prior experience in gymnastics or circus arts is appreciated, although beginners are welcome. Positions are also open to people with disabilities (RQTH status), as Club Med is an employer committed to the inclusion of people with disabilities.
The contract is based on 35 hours per week, with work potentially required on weekends and public holidays, in accordance with the operating procedures of holiday villages.
