From September 25, 2026 to June 25, 2027, the Apprends & Rêve association is offering a year-round circus workshop in Paris for children aged 7 to 12. Held every Friday from 4:45 pm to 6 pm, this workshop invites young participants to discover the circus arts through challenges, games, and the progressive practice of numerous disciplines: juggling, acrobatics, object manipulation, balancing, partner acrobatics, and tightrope walking.
🎪 Discover your body through circus arts
One of the main objectives of this workshop is the physical development of children through various circus disciplines. The exercises offered allow them to discover their bodies in a new way, to enrich their motor skills and to experiment with new possibilities for movement.
But learning isn't limited to technique. Children are also encouraged to develop their playfulness and physical expression, while discovering the importance of relationships with others and teamwork. The circus thus becomes a testing ground where everyone can progress at their own pace, gain confidence in their abilities, create, and share with the group.
🤹 First term: discovery, motor skills and acrobatics
During the first term, the children experience different workshops from the world of the circus. Dynamic exercises, adapted physical work and simple acrobatics allow them to become aware of their bodies and develop new motor skills.
They gradually discover that their bodies can become a true means of artistic creation, both individually and in service of the collective.
🎪 Second term: juggling, lifts and balances
During the second term, the children begin to experiment more specifically with the different genres and techniques of the circus.
They practice activities such as juggling with scarves and balls, performing lifts in pairs or trios, and exploring different forms of balance, including ball balancing and tightrope walking. Object manipulation, acrobatics, and tightrope walking are also part of the world they explore throughout the year.
Thematic workshops are designed to suit each child's abilities. Exercises progress from the simplest to the most complex, allowing each child to discover different disciplines and progress at their own pace.
🎭 Third term: creation of a circus show
After experimenting with different disciplines and developing their skills during the first two terms, the children mobilize all their acquired knowledge to move on to creation.
The third term is dedicated to preparing a short performance. Participants use the techniques learned during the year, as well as their imagination, to stage their proposals.
This project allows them to discover a new dimension of circus arts: transforming technical skills into a collective artistic expression. The show, prepared throughout the year, is finally presented to an audience.
👧 A small group workshop for 7-12 year olds
The workshop is specifically designed for children aged 7 to 12 and accommodates a maximum of 12 participants.
This reduced capacity allows us to offer exercises adapted to the children's abilities and to support their progress throughout the year.
Between juggling, acrobatics, object manipulation, balances, lifts, tightrope walking, games and body expression, this annual workshop offers a particularly varied discovery of the world of the circus, with a pedagogical progression ranging from experimentation of the disciplines to their use in a true collective creation.
