In Lyon, Cyril Monnaux offers an original approach at the crossroads of juggling, movement, and functional training: Kettlebell Juggling and Kettlebell Flow. A state-certified sports coach and passionate about working with kettlebells, he explores this object far beyond its traditional use in bodybuilding, integrating it into fluid movements, throws, and true manipulation sequences.

🤹 Kettlebell juggling involves throwing and catching a kettlebell while performing various movements, rotations, grip changes, and trajectories. Unlike traditional exercises where the weight is usually held throughout, the kettlebell here leaves the hands and truly becomes an object of juggling. The discipline demands precision, concentration, and control, as well as coordination, reactivity, and body control.

This particularly physical form of juggling allows for the simultaneous development of functional strength, balance, agility, mobility, coordination, and proprioception. The weight and unique mass distribution of a kettlebell create sensations very different from those experienced with balls, rings, or clubs. The practitioner must learn to anticipate the object's inertia, rotation, trajectory, and landing.

For this discipline, Cyril Monnaux indicates that he generally uses kettlebells weighing between 6 and 16 kg, with a preference for competition models. These maintain consistent dimensions despite weight variations, allowing for a similar feel during handling. The load and difficulty of the exercises must, of course, be adapted to each practitioner's level and abilities.

🔄 Kettlebell Flow develops a complementary approach. Here, the goal is to link different movements and manipulations to create continuous, harmonious, and fluid sequences. The kettlebell accompanies the body's movements and transitions seamlessly from one movement to the next, giving the practice a particularly creative dimension.

Flow specifically engages coordination, mobility, stability, flexibility, and strength, while encouraging each individual to explore their own combinations. It's not simply about repeating physical exercises: movements can be progressively combined to create one's own flow and develop a more personal relationship with the object.

This combination of juggling and physical conditioning makes the approach particularly interesting for jugglers and circus performers. Manipulating a heavy object with an offset center of gravity forces a rethinking of throwing, spinning, and catching. Kettlebell juggling can therefore serve as both a complementary physical training method and a testing ground for object manipulation and movement.

Cyril Monnaux's background explains this direction. After several years of more traditional bodybuilding and fitness, he discovered kettlebell training and appreciated its dynamic, fun, and versatile nature. He gradually specialized in this practice and developed a method based on functional training, where strength, endurance, mobility, balance, and coordination are worked on together. His approach also uses other tools such as suspension straps, resistance bands, and bodyweight exercises.

🌍 For Cyril Monnaux, kettlebell training also has a dimension of sharing. His interactions with international practitioners have allowed him to discover a community united by movement, creativity, and the joy of practice. Kettlebell Juggling and Flow are fully aligned with this philosophy where physical performance meets personal expression.

Coaching sessions are offered in Lyon and the surrounding area, with several options depending on individual needs: at the gym, at home, or outdoors. Cyril Monnaux specifically mentions the On Air clubs in the Saxe-Gambetta, Brotteaux, Jean Macé, and Cordeliers districts, as well as the Ucanfit gym in Caluire-et-Cuire. For outdoor training, sessions can take place in locations such as Parc de Parilly, Parc de la Tête d'Or, Parc Blandan, or along the banks of the Rhône and Saône rivers. Remote coaching is also included in his overall coaching package.
