The Entracte Association is offering two new weeks of circus workshops for children aged 4 to 12 in Mugron, in the Landes region: from October 19 to 23, 2026 and then from April 19 to 23, 2027. Organised in partnership with AFCA of Aire-sur-l'Adour, these workshops allow young participants to discover several circus arts disciplines during the school holidays, including juggling, balance, adapted acrobatics and expression games.

🤹 For five days, children are guided by a professional instructor in a program that combines circus arts discovery, physical activity, creativity, and the joy of practicing together. The program therefore doesn't focus on a single discipline: participants can experience different aspects of the circus and gradually discover the possibilities offered by their bodies and juggling props.

Juggling is fully included among the announced disciplines. It allows children to work on their coordination, concentration and relationship to objects, while discovering new possibilities for manipulation.

Work on balance and adapted acrobatics complements this approach. The exercises are designed according to the age of the participants and allow them to gradually learn the fundamental physical skills of the circus.

🎭 Expression games also play a role in the workshop. This dimension allows children to go beyond simply acquiring technical skills: they are invited to experiment, express themselves, and develop their creativity through circus arts.

The organizers highlight three key areas that participants will develop throughout the week: confidence, coordination, and teamwork. The learning experience is offered in a fun and supportive atmosphere.

👧 In order to adapt the duration and intensity of the activities to the age of the children, two separate groups are formed.

The youngest children, aged 4 to 6, participate in the workshop every morning from 9:30 to 11:30. Over the five days, they thus benefit from ten hours of circus-related activities.

Children aged 7 to 12 have a longer format, with three hours of activity each afternoon, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., i.e. fifteen hours of circus spread over the week.

🎪 The week ends on a particularly pleasant note: on Friday, a presentation is organized for families. Parents and relatives can thus discover what has been learned during the workshop and see the progress of the young circus performers.

This feedback also gives a collective objective to the week: after several days devoted to discovery, trials and learning, participants can share part of their experience with their family.

Both workshops take place at the Espace Henri Emmanuelli in Mugron, in the Landes region. They are organized by the Entracte Association, a cultural organization founded in Mugron in 1989 whose mission is, among other things, to promote culture in rural areas. The association currently develops various activities related to film, live performance, and young audiences.

For these circus workshops, Entracte works in partnership with AFCA d'Aire-sur-l'Adour, which provides circus supervision.

💶 Prices are intentionally adjusted according to the session length: €50 per week for 4-6 year olds and €80 for 7-12 year olds. Families registering multiple children also receive a €15 discount for each additional child from the same family.

Places are limited, so prior registration is essential. Reservations can be made directly with the Entracte Association by phone at 05 58 97 92 42 or by email at contact@asso-entracte.fr.

These two weeks thus constitute a great opportunity for children to discover the circus in Mugron during the school holidays, whether they have already practiced or simply wish to take their first steps into the world of juggling, balance and acrobatics.
