The Val d'Anast Fire Festival is a Breton event entirely dedicated to pyrotechnic displays, flames, and the world of fire arts. Organized by the association Le Festival du Feu, created in 2024, the project aims to promote pyrotechnic shows through the creation and organization of artistic and cultural events for a wide audience.
After its inaugural edition in 2025 at the Maure-de-Bretagne Hippodrome, the festival was scheduled to return on August 29, 2026, with a completely redesigned second edition. However, this 2026 edition had to be cancelled just days before it was due to take place, following a decision by the prefecture due to weather conditions and the risks they posed to the public, volunteers, service providers, and the environment. The association nevertheless hopes to be able to continue the adventure and mentions the possibility of a future edition on its website.
A Festival du Feu 2027 edition is currently listed for August 2027, but this new edition has yet to be officially confirmed. No specific dates, program, or ticket information for 2027 has yet been released by the association.
The concept developed in previous editions helps to understand the unique identity of the Festival du Feu. The event is not limited to a simple fireworks display: it seeks to create a truly immersive evening centered around fire, pyrotechnics, music, and live performance.
For the cancelled 2026 edition, the gates were scheduled to open at 6 p.m. with a craft market, a tavern, and several food trucks. Musicians and street performers were then to gradually build the atmosphere before the main show.
At nightfall, a spectacular pyrotechnic show lasting approximately one hour was to begin, conceived as a true visual and narrative creation. Flames, stars, light effects, pyrotechnics, and other spectacular effects were to tell the story of the birth of the Earth, in a scenography designed to immerse the audience in a world of fire and light.
This important place given to the fire arts makes the event particularly interesting for fans of fire juggling, pyrotechnic shows, street arts and night performances, although the precise artistic program of a possible 2027 edition will have to be verified when it is published.
The festival is run by an association comprised mainly of volunteers and also prides itself on its strong local ties. The organizers emphasize that the event attracts visitors from beyond Maure-de-Bretagne and contributes to the local economic and cultural scene.
The 2025 edition welcomed 2,500 participants and was sold out, which testifies to the interest encountered from the very first year by this new Breton event.
If the 2027 edition is confirmed, it should be a spectacular event showcasing pyrotechnics and fire arts in Brittany, within the particularly vast setting of the Maure-de-Bretagne racecourse. However, the program, schedule, artists, access conditions, and exact date will need to be updated as soon as the association makes its official announcement.
⚠️ Important information
To date, the Festival du Feu association has not officially confirmed the 2027 edition. The mention of "August 2027" comes from JDS and should be considered provisional. The official website currently indicates that a future edition is only being considered and specifies that its location and date are not yet known.
