Bearing Diabolo: Big Top

Ball bearing diabolo:

This diabolo is to put in the hands of any diabolist who wants to have a good time ! Indeed its axis has the particularity of being equipped with a system mounted on ball bearings giving it an impressive speed of rotation.

This bearing system allows the diabolo to have a much higher rotation speed than that which can be obtained with a normal diabolo.

• The cups of this model are made of flexible plastic with a TPE coating to limit scratches during outdoor use.
• Its large cups ensure excellent stability and it is equipped with a wide axis allowing you to do many tricks where the diabolo lands on the fingers or on the handsticks.

NetJuggler's opinion on the ball bearing diabolo:

The Big Top is a diabolo from the English manufacturer Juggle Dream. This is the cheapest bearing diabolo we sell in our shop. We decided to add it to our range because we were pleasantly surprised by its performances. Of course it does not equal our range of bearing diabolos made in Germany (by the manufacturer Henrys). But it will give full satisfaction to beginners eager to discover the discipline.

Characteristics of the Big Top diabolo:

• Diameter: 130 mm.
• Height: 145 mm.
• Space between the cups: 25 mm.
• Axis: ball bearing.
• Wide axis: 12 mm.
• Weight: 295 g.
• A black and white colour code on each side of the axis allows you to determine the direction of use of the diabolo.

What kind of use ?

This model, the Big Top, is rather large in size with a relatively light weight for its size. It will be suitable for children, teenagers and adults as well.

If you are not familiar with ball bearing diabolos, the principle is at it follows: once your diabolo picks up speed, it will hold it much longer than a fixed axis diabolo. Here are some of the benefits:

• Longer spinning time than a normal diabolo.
• Possibility to do many tricks without having to re-accelerate your diabolo.
• Wide axis to facilitate many tricks.
• Minimal friction between the axis and the sticks during grinds / slides.
• Limits friction when practicing vertax (vertical axis of the diabolo)

Some drawbacks or limitations of the ball bearings : it becomes impossible to do all the elevator tricks. These bearing diabolos are not made to practice with several diabolos at the same time (except vertax), because they will spin too quickly on the string compared to diabolos equipped with normal axis. It may be necessary to change the bearing system once the bearing balls show wear, which of course never happens on with normal diabolo!
