Staff sold individually, equipped with Kevlar wicks.

Fire contact staff:

This staff is a model that spins and rolls smoothly compared to a normal staff. Its mass causes it to rotate and will allow you to be fluid in your movements. Its structure is in aluminum with an internal wooden rod.

The metal elements have been hidden to increase safety when using the staff.

Comfort is ensured by its soft grip.

Technical characteristics of the contact staff:

  • Kevlar width: 100mm.
  • Length: 1.50m.
  • Interior addition of the structure on the ends: wood to improve the inertia of the staff.
  • Grip: extruded EPDM rubber.
  • Tube diameter: 22mm without the grip.
  • Length of the part with grip: 85cm.
  • Ignition time: 6 to 10 minutes.
  • Handle / grip that absorbs perspiration.

What kind of use?

The fire contact staff is aimed at an adult professional audience wishing to practice with rather slow and precise movements. This type of staff is heavier which allows it to be manageable.

Tips for using your fire staff:

Here are some guidelines to increase the lifespan of your staff. Professionals are used to this kind of instructions, but we never repeat them enough ...

When you soak your wicks, soak them 3/4, this will give the kevlar time to absorb all the fuel and prevent it from leaking and running on the grip of your staff. It is important to know that the grip of the staff is resistant to heat but not to flames. Also, be careful not to let fuel run on the grip, this could encourage flames to spread on the grip and cause deformation or premature wear of your grip.

  • Never use fuel such as White Spirit, Benzene or other alcohol based fuel. Prefer the use of flavorless oil which produces a very yellow so-called "cold" flame. If you have a blue or transparent flame, it means you are using the wrong fuel, so don't push it and check your fuel.
  • Do not hold the staff in a static vertical position, always keep it in motion or in a horizontal position so that the flames do not damage the structure or the elements of your staff such as its grip for example.
  • Handle the grip with delicacy to ensure a good lifespan.
  • Do not soak the staff in the fuel.
