Bolas Contact Play – 80mm, 90mm and 100mm
This sheet groups together the Play contact bolas available in three diameters: 80 mm, 90 mm and 100 mm. The 80 mm model is available in two versions: Standard with PVC handles or PRO with silicone handles. The 90 mm and 100 mm models are offered in a PRO version with silicone handles.
Contact bolas (or contact poi) are designed for isolations, throws, stops, body rolls and all modern handling techniques. Their large diameter allows for spectacular visual effects while also facilitating numerous contact figures.
Choosing your handles: Standard or PRO silicone
This range is available with two types of handles. The choice of handle directly influences the sensations, control and stability of the bolas.
- Standard PVC handles: available only on the 80 mm Standard version. They are lightweight, simple and accessible, ideal for discovering contact bolas.
- PRO silicone grips: available on 80 mm, 90 mm and 100 mm versions. They are round, flexible, pleasant to hold and measure 40 mm in diameter.
Advantage of PRO silicone grips: their added mass acts as a Better counterweight for throws. They provide more control and more stability. in rotation and greater comfort for manipulation figures.
In summary: for the 80mm size, you can choose between a lightweight Standard version with PVC handles and a more controlled PRO version with silicone grips. The 90mm and 100mm sizes are directly equipped with PRO silicone grips.

NetJuggler tip: adjust the length of your bolas
There is no universal length for bolas. Everyone adapts their length according to their style. of practice, his size and his preferences.
To start, we generally recommend a length that allows the ball to arrive under the armpit when you hold the handle in your hand.
To adjust the rope length, pull the rope at the handle and tie a simple knot. then cut off the excess.

Which version should I choose?
The choice depends on two elements: the type of handle and the diameter of the balls.
- 80 mm Standard with PVC handles: the most affordable version to discover Contact bolas. It is lightweight, easy to handle and less tiring.
- 80 mm PRO with silicone grips: same compact diameter as the Standard version, but with more control thanks to the round silicone handles which act as a counterweight.
- 90 mm PRO with silicone grips: an excellent compromise between maneuverability, stability and precision. This size is very popular with smaller people or those practitioners seeking less muscle fatigue.
- 100mm Giga PRO with silicone grips: the preferred choice for advanced contact. clean stops, isolations, and stage work. Its larger diameter improves the visibility of the figures to the public.
Lighter models promote speed of execution and limit fatigue. Larger models offer greater stability and precision when stopping. and visual presence.
For what type of practice?
Contact bolas are particularly well-suited for isolations, throws, and stops. and the bearings on the body. They allow for a fluid and visual style. close to manipulation and contact juggling.
The PRO versions with silicone grips are particularly appealing to practitioners. who wish to improve their throws, catches, stops and tricks requiring greater control.
The 100mm version is available in several colors, including a visible phosphorescent version in the dark. The colors most reactive to black light are yellow, orange, pink and green.
Tips for choosing the right size for your bolas
Contact bolas are available in 80 mm, 90 mm and 100 mm.
- 80 mm: the most manageable and accessible model for beginners.
- 90 mm: an excellent compromise between precision, lightness and stability.
- 100 mm: the preferred choice for advanced contact, clean stops and demanding practitioners.

Is this model recommended for starting with bolas or can we already take 100 mm, thank you
The size of the ball affects the weight of the ball and therefore the precision of the movements. The bigger and heavier the balls, the more precision you will gain. If you are looking to be able to make clean stops, then larger balls will be more suitable, such as 90mm and 100mm. If, on the other hand, you want to play at speed without precision or if you are a beginner, you can opt for bolas with 80mm diameter balls. The 90mm version is certainly the most versatile. Also be careful if you practice with a fast style, the bigger the balls, the heavier they are and the more tiring it is, avoid bolas with 100mm balls, they risk tiring you too much if your style is "super speed"!
Good morning !!
I'm hesitating between ordering a colored pair or a fluorescent one. My question is: do the bolas stay lit for several hours or does the fluorescent effect fade quickly?
Thanks in advance =)
I think you're referring to the phosphorescent effect. The phosphorescent effect is relatively short-lived. It's comparable to the effect you get from the stars we put in children's bedrooms.
I've noticed several types of handles, which ones do you recommend? Stick? Balls?
Silicone handles are heavier than other types of handles. This allows the bolas to be used for throwing, as the handles act as a counterweight.
Fast delivery, great quality product to start with, I recommend
Good morning,
I have a quick question. Would it be possible to change the string?
For example, in the white bolas the string is white and black, would it be possible to choose an all-white string?
Thank you so much :)
The bolas we sell here are already assembled. However, nothing is stopping you from making your own bolas. You're never better served than by doing it yourself. On our site you'll find: balls, handles, and cords :-)
Hello, is the price per unit or per pair?
I didn't say anything, I hadn't read "sold in pairs"
Hi hi I bought some giga bolas 3 or 4 months ago and the file is dead and I can't find the same or another cool file so here if there is a way to have a little info it's cool!
It is not normal for the string on these bolas to wear out so quickly. There is either a defect in the model you ordered or improper use on your part.
Good morning,
I was wondering if you were going to add the color "purple" to your repertoire, that would be awesome :)
Looking forward to it!
Good morning,
Unfortunately, the creation of this color is not planned at this time.
Sincerely,
Thanks for the info.
Ps: I received 100mm fire, phosphorus and contact balls today. I wanted to thank you for the quality and the time it took to arrive.
This is not the first time I've ordered from NetJuggler, and it certainly won't be the last :)
Looking forward to it!
Thank you for your message, which means a lot to us. I will pass it on to the entire team right away.
Please remember that if you have any questions about using the equipment you have ordered, we are available by email and also by telephone with a non-premium rate number :-).
Happy juggling to you,Good morning!
After looking at the pictures of the different sizes of bolas, it seems to me that the 90mm are matte while the 80mm and 100mm are shiny. Is this correct? Are the pictures misleading?
Thank you and have a good weekend!
Indeed, the 90mm have a matte, slightly "peach skin" finish. The mold for the 90 contact bolas is a recent mold that benefits from a better finish than the mold for the 80mm and 100mm balls, which are molds that were purchased a long time ago to originally manufacture stage balls.
The 90mm bolas have a much better finish than the 80mm and 100mm versions.
So the 90mm seems like the best compromise for "beginners" right? Knowing that I know 2-3 basics like weave or other very simple things. And that I am not what you would call a small build :-p What would be your advice?
Oh, and one more question! What size are the bolas the girl in the photo is using? From the looks of it, I'd say 90mm, but I'm not sure since it's not the 80mm size. Just to get a feel for how they look in real life.
In my opinion, the 80mm has its limitations if you intend to get serious about it. Mainly because you can be less precise with the stops.
Most "serious" jugglers practice with 90mm diameter balls. Because they are easy to handle and less heavy than the 100mm ones, which can be tiring to use.
On the other hand, those who have a very good level generally practice with 100mm, because although they are heavier, they are the most manageable and those which allow maximum precision to be achieved, particularly on stops.
The girl who makes bolas in the photos
My sister (Marie) who practices on the photos uses the 80mm contact pro bolas :-)
If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask them here, or you can also give us a quick call; it's sometimes easier than texting us here! You'll find our number at the top of the site!Thank you very much for your replies! I just ordered a pair of 90mm orange bolas that I am looking forward to receiving!
Are the bolas sold individually or are both included in the price?
This item is sold in pairs. The price indicated is for both bolas: therefore a pair :-)
Good morning,
I would like to buy some phosphorescent bolas and I wanted to know if you will be receiving any soon? Thank you.
For all your questions regarding restocking, please contact us by email or by telephone (05 55 56 25 79).
I wanted to know if it was possible to buy red bolas (for example) that are also phosphorescent? Or are the phosphorescent bolas only available in white? Thank you.
Indeed, it is not possible to choose red bolas that are phosphorescent. To my knowledge, everything that is phosphorescent will have this off-white color. Which makes me realize that there are no photos of the phosphorescent bolas on this product sheet. I will go add that right away!
Good morning,
I made myself some poi like this and they're really fun to juggle!
On the other hand, we see in the photos of your models that the diameter of the rope is smaller than the diameter of the hole in the ball! Isn't it a bit restrictive that the ball can move on the rope?
The ball can indeed move on the string. But this isn't restrictive, quite the opposite. Unless you can prove me wrong! How is this restrictive for you?
Is this a good model to start with?
I would like to know what type of rope you use to make your poi.
Where can we get some?
THANKS
The ropes used are small cords that are quite easily found in specialist climbing equipment stores.
When will the 100mm bolas be available?
They were presented at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in early February. We are awaiting our first delivery, which we will post on our website immediately.
Really very happy with the product, these manipulation balls are the gateway to juggling technique. No manufacturing defects for mine, durable and everything! Thank you very much!
Is it possible to have the same type of poi but with 100mm instead of 80mm (the contact being more pleasant for me), paying a little more obviously. Thanks in advance.
You can find a 100mm version on our website: Bolas contact 100mm

Are they phosphorus?
We only have a Phospho version on the PRO version. The other models, however, are Fluorescent and react to black light (except white). The best results in black light will be obtained with the colors: green, yellow, orange.
What is the difference between this model and the pro model
The handles are not the same. The pro version is equipped with a silicone handle for greater comfort. It's a small silicone ball. It provides greater comfort but also more weight for throwing.
Are they sold individually?
These bolas are sold in pairs.
