Bolas Contact giga 100mm:

The contact bolas from the Italian manufacturer Play are very popular, and this new model was highly anticipated. Here are the famous contact bolas with larger balls, 100mm in diameter and weighing 200g each.

The advantage of using a larger ball is that it facilitates many visual effects such as stops and isolations. It's also a ball diameter that will be more visible on stage.

The tips supplied with these bolas are made of silicone, providing optimal grip. Due to their large size (40 mm diameter), these tips also serve as excellent counterweights for throwing.

NetJuggler Tip:

This latest version also features a beautifully coloured string that matches the colour of the balls and handles for a great visual impact!
The rope has a diameter of 6mm and a length of 50cm. To adjust the rope length, simply follow the instructions in the video I've prepared below.

Available in 7 colors as well as a phosphorescent version that glows in the dark. The colors of the balls that are most reactive to black light are: yellow, orange, pink, and green.

Features of GIGAS contact bolas:

  • Ball diameter: 100mm.
  • Mass of one ball: 200g.
  • Mass of one bola: 240g.
  • Weight of a complete pair: 480g.
  • String length: 60cm, adjustable.
  • Total length: 70cm, adjustable.
  • String thickness: 6mm.
  • Handle Type: SILICONE.
  • Handle length: 4cm.

There is no standard length; everyone has their own preferences. That said, if you are a beginner, when holding the handles, ideally the head of the bolas should reach below your armpit.

For what type of practice?

100mm bolas are the most interesting for integrating contact and especially for making clean stops.

This is the number one choice for serious practitioners. Visually, the larger size of the bolas allows for greater impact. Physically, they are more tiring to use, hence the lighter 90mm version.

Tips for choosing the size of bolas:

Contact bolas come in 3 different sizes: 80mm , 90mm and 100mm. Why these 3 sizes and which one should you choose?

Choosing the right size is primarily a matter of taste, but here are perhaps some pointers to help you choose one size over another.

  • If you're a beginner with bolas or if you're on the smaller side, then 80mm bolas might be a better fit for you. They'll be lighter and therefore less tiring to handle. Beginners are generally less focused on perfect movements and enjoy a more dynamic style of play. In this case, 80mm bolas will be more suitable.
They are useful for speed practice, but will allow for less precision, especially when stopping, and are best suited for a smoother style, as there is little weight at the ends of the bolas. 80mm bolas
  • Physically, the larger bolas are more tiring to use, hence the lighter 90mm version . The 90mm size is popular with smaller people and women: 90mm bolas

    Fluorescent balls

    Good morning !!

I'm hesitating between ordering a colored pair or a fluorescent one. My question is: do the bolas stay lit for several hours or does the fluorescent effect fade quickly?

    Thanks in advance =)

      Re: Fluorescent balls

I think you're referring to the phosphorescent effect. The phosphorescent effect is relatively short-lived. It's comparable to the effect you get from the stars we put in children's bedrooms.

    String

    Good morning,

I have a quick question. Would it be possible to change the string?

For example, in the white bolas the string is white and black, would it be possible to choose an all-white string?

    Thank you so much :)

      Re: String

The bolas we sell here are already assembled. However, nothing is stopping you from making your own bolas. You're never better served than by doing it yourself. On our site you'll find: balls, handles, and cords :-)

    Little question

Hi hi I bought some giga bolas 3 or 4 months ago and the file is dead and I can't find the same or another cool file so here if there is a way to have a little info it's cool!

      Re: Quick question

It is not normal for the string on these bolas to wear out so quickly. There is either a defect in the model you ordered or improper use on your part.

This is the first time we've received feedback of this type; this equipment is designed to withstand intensive use. I invite you to contact our after-sales support; we will, of course, intervene after discussing the matter with you.

    Good morning,

I was wondering if you were going to add the color "purple" to your repertoire, that would be awesome :)

    [CONTACTP_GI]Title

    Good morning,

I made myself some poi like this and they're really fun to juggle!

On the other hand, we see in the photos of your models that the diameter of the rope is smaller than the diameter of the hole in the ball! Isn't it a bit restrictive that the ball can move on the rope?

    03/09/2012
    • Answer
      Re: [CONTACTP_GI]Title

The ball can indeed move on the string. But this isn't restrictive, quite the opposite. Unless you can prove me wrong! How is this restrictive for you?
