90mm Bolas Manip:

Pair of bolas assembled with 90mm stage (contact) balls . Each ball weighs 180g.

Manip bolas (contact bolas or contact poi) represent the latest innovation in bolas. They are ideal for isolations, throws, and for contact with body rolls.

The handle on this version is made of silicone. Its dimensions (40 mm diameter) make it a fantastic grip. It's the perfect counterweight for your free throws.

NetJuggler Tip:

The rope has a diameter of 6mm and a length of 50cm. To adjust the rope length, I've made a short video which you can see below.

Characteristics of bolas:

  • Ball diameter: 90mm.
  • Mass of one ball: 180g.
  • Mass of one bola: 225g.
  • Weight of a complete pair: 450g.
  • String length: 50cm, adjustable.
  • Total length: 65cm, adjustable.
  • String thickness: 6mm.
  • Handle Type: Silicone.
  • Handle length: 4cm.

There is no standard length; everyone has their own preferences. That said, if you are a beginner, when holding the handles, ideally the head of the bolas should reach below your armpit.

For what type of practice?

Physically, the larger bolas will be more tiring to use, hence the lighter 90mm version . The 90mm size is popular with smaller people and women.

Tips for choosing the size of bolas:

Contact bolas come in 3 different sizes: 80mm, 90mm and 100mm. Why these 3 sizes and which one should you choose?

Choosing the right size is primarily a matter of taste, but here are perhaps some pointers to help you choose one size over another.

  • 100mm bolas are the most interesting for integrating contact and especially for making clean stops.
This is the number one choice for serious practitioners. Visually, the bolas offer a wider range of effects thanks to their greater mass. Physically, they are more tiring to use, hence the lighter 90mm version. The 100mm bolas (Gigas)
  • If you're a beginner with bolas or if you're on the smaller side, then 80mm bolas might be a better fit for you. They'll be lighter and therefore less tiring to handle. Beginners are generally less focused on perfect movements and enjoy a more dynamic style of play. 80mm bolas will suit them better.
They are useful for speed practice, but will allow for less precision, especially when stopping, and are best suited for a smoother style, as there is little weight at the ends of the bolas. 80mm bolas

      Re: Beginner

The size of the ball affects the weight of the ball and therefore the precision of the movements. The bigger and heavier the balls, the more precision you will gain. If you are looking to be able to make clean stops, then larger balls will be more suitable, such as 90mm and 100mm. If, on the other hand, you want to play at speed without precision or if you are a beginner, you can opt for bolas with 80mm diameter balls. The 90mm version is certainly the most versatile. Also be careful if you practice with a fast style, the bigger the balls, the heavier they are and the more tiring it is, avoid bolas with 100mm balls, they risk tiring you too much if your style is "super speed"!

I wanted to know if it was possible to buy red bolas (for example) that are also phosphorescent? Or are the phosphorescent bolas only available in white? Thank you.

      Re: Info

Indeed, it is not possible to choose red bolas that are phosphorescent. To my knowledge, everything that is phosphorescent will have this off-white color. Which makes me realize that there are no photos of the phosphorescent bolas on this product sheet. I will go add that right away!
