Circus Challenge Kit: juggling, balancing, and combining the two!
With this kit, you don't just discover several circus disciplines. You also learn how to combine them to create new challenges.
Start by juggling three BBX balls, discover the rotations of the OZAM clubs, learn to throw and catch the Comet diabolo, then familiarize yourself with balance on the rola bola Play.
Once you have mastered each discipline a little, the possibilities become particularly interesting: why not try juggling on the rola bola?
You can start with a simple ball throw, then gradually try more elaborate tricks. The same principle applies to clubs and diabolo.
This kit is aimed at teenagers and adults who wish to discover the circus, develop their coordination and progress towards exercises combining juggling and balance.
What does the Circus Challenge kit contain?
- 1 rola bola Play: a wooden board and its roller to learn dynamic balance.
- 1 Comet diabolo from Play: a fixed-axis diabolo, versatile and suitable for learning.
- 1 pair of Superglass sticks: fiberglass sticks with foam handles, supplied with their string for using the diabolo.
- 3 BBX Beanbag balls from Play: soft juggling balls for learning throws and three-ball tricks.
- 3 OZAM Trainer clubs: sturdy clubs for discovering juggling with rotating objects.
All the necessary materials for discovering these four disciplines are gathered in a single set.
Four disciplines to learn separately
1. The rola bola: learning to master your balance
The rola bola consists of a board placed on a roller. The principle is to stand on the board while controlling its lateral movement.
The Play model includes a 65 × 25 cm wooden board and a roller with rubber strips to promote grip.
The rola bola allows you to work on balance, coordination, concentration and precision of movements.
At first, simply standing on the board is already an interesting exercise. With practice, you learn to stabilize your position and gradually free your hands to perform other movements.
2. BBX balls: the basics of throwing juggling
The three BBX Beanbag balls from Play allow you to learn the three-ball stunt, and then discover many other tricks.
Their soft touch and low tendency to bounce make them pleasant for aerial juggling exercises.
Juggling with balls is particularly interesting for developing the regularity of throws and coordination between the two hands.
It is also an excellent discipline to start combining juggling and balance: once you are comfortable on the rola bola, you can attempt some simple throws without leaving your position.
3. OZAM clubs: discover juggling with rotation
Juggling clubs presents a new challenge compared to balls: you have to control not only the trajectory of the object, but also its rotation.
OZAM Trainer clubs are designed for training and beginners. Their robust construction is suitable for the many falls that accompany the learning process.
With three clubs, you can learn the first throws, work on the regularity of rotations and progress towards the three-club cascade.
Once you have mastered these basics, trying a few balanced throws on a rola bola becomes a particularly fun challenge.
4. The Comet diabolo: manipulating a moving object
The Comet diabolo from Play is a fixed-axis model, made with soft and resistant plastic cups.
It allows you to discover the first movements of the diabolo: rotation, acceleration, trajectory corrections, first throws and first figures.
The Superglass chopsticks included in the kit come with their own string and comfortable handles. Their fiberglass construction makes them lightweight and slightly flexible.
The diabolo offers a different set of movements than balls and clubs. You learn to control a rotating object using two sticks connected by a string.
And once you've mastered the basics, why not try a few simple movements on the rola bola?
The real challenge of the kit: juggling on a rola bola!
What makes this set particularly interesting is that the three juggling disciplines can be associated with rola bola .
But we mustn't rush things.
Before attempting a trick on the board, you must be comfortable enough with the rola bola and with the apparatus you wish to use.
Once you have acquired these two basics, you can begin to combine them gradually.
- Balls + rola bola: start by throwing and catching a single ball, then try a few simple exchanges before considering a three-ball cascade.
- Clubs + rola bola: when you have good control of the rotations, try simple throws with a club, then progress to more complex combinations.
- Diabolo + rola bola: once your balance is stable enough, try to keep the diabolo spinning and perform simple manipulations.
The difficulty no longer lies solely in mastering the objects: one must also maintain one's balance while the hands and arms are working.
This association develops coordination and offers new opportunities for advancement.
A move you've mastered on the ground becomes a new challenge when you perform it on a rola bola!
How can I make progress with this kit?
- Discover each apparatus on the floor: take the time to learn the basic movements with the balls, clubs and diabolo.
- Work on balance separately: practice on the rola bola in safe conditions until you can hold a stable position without sudden movements.
- Start the associations with simple exercises: throwing and catching a ball can already require good coordination.
- Gradually increase the difficulty: when you are comfortable, try longer sequences with the balls, then explore the clubs or the diabolo.
You don't need to master all the disciplines to start enjoying the kit. Everyone can progress at their own pace and choose the exercises they like best.
NetJuggler's opinion:
We particularly like this kit because it offers several disciplines that take on a new dimension when combined.
Learning to juggle three balls, three clubs, or a diabolo is already exciting. Learning to balance on a rola bola is another challenge. But when you combine the two, even a simple trick can become much more interesting!
We recommend exploring each piece of equipment at your own pace before attempting to perform balancing acts. Mastering the basics gradually is the most enjoyable way to get the most out of it.
The equipment selected is suitable for learning while allowing continued progress. In particular, we chose OZAM clubs for their robustness, BBX balls for their juggling comfort, and the Comet diabolo for its versatility.
Another small advantage of this setup: we've chosen equipment that fits perfectly in our shipping box. A generous and cohesive set, prepared for shipment in well-suited packaging.
A kit we recommend to the curious, circus enthusiasts and those who like to take on new challenges!
