Axis type
-
Diabolos equipped with a fixed axis
Diabolos equipped with a fixed axis are those used by our parents and grandparents. There is a lot of friction between the axle and the diabolo string. Learning the discipline will be more tedious than with a diabolo with bearings. You will have to constantly give speed to the diabolo to keep it rotating. It allows excellent rigor to learn discipline because you have to understand its subtleties for it to obey you.
-
Diabolos equipped with single ball bearings
Diabolos with bearings have a better rotation time than diabolos with a fixed axis, which makes them much more accessible to beginners who will immediately be able to have fun with them. In fact, the fact that the axle is equipped with bearings improves the inertia of the diabolo and since it turns more easily, faster for longer, the balance of the diabolo will be better. We offer some low-cost models here equipped with single bearings , in comparison with diabolos with triple bearings they will rotate for less time and their bearings will wear out more quickly because all the pressure of the rotating diabolo is exerted on a single central bearing. These models are suitable for the first steps, but will quickly have limits even if we have been rigorous in the selection of these diabolos.
-
Diabolos equipped with triple or quintuple bearings
Triple bearing diabolos are the easiest to use and perfect for having fun . If you are taking circus lessons with a circus school, your teacher may recommend that you start with a fixed-axis diabolo because you will develop better technique. But if you're there to have fun, bearing diabolos are pretty cool for that. The fact that there are three bearings on its diabolos (central bearing with unidirectional cylinders and 2 ball bearings) allows these models to rotate faster , maintain their rotation for longer and helps avoid premature wear of the bearings .

- These diabolos are considered to be the best learning diabolos for children. Neither too big nor too small, they retain the speed that they are given. The favorite tends to be the Arlequin Medium.
- Associations and schools, depending on your budget we recommend the Jazz diabolo which is one of the best models recognized by circus schools for its strength and ease of use.
