Diabolo Gyro: fixed axle or triple bearing

This listing includes two versions of the Gyro diabolo: the fixed-axis Gyro and the Gyro Free equipped with triple bearings . Both models are sold individually, without sticks or string, and can be selected from the options on this page.

If you're a beginner diabolo player discovering the art of the diabolo, the fixed-axis gyro is perfect for learning the sport. If you're particular about the finish and quality of materials, this model will suit you even better.

Both versions feature a wide axle , making it easier to perform tricks where the diabolo is caught on the sticks as well as tricks where it is held by hand. The flexible cups are made in Europe and have excellent shape memory: they deform when dropped or thrown to the ground, then immediately return to their original shape to maintain a well-balanced diabolo.

Diabolo spécial :

The Gyro Free is equipped with triple bearings . It features a wide axle and flexible cups. This system gives it a turbo effect: the diabolo remains stable and maintains its speed much longer than a standard diabolo.

NetJuggler's review of Gyro diabolo sticks:

The fixed-axis gyro is one of the best diabolos that can be put in the hands of a beginner.

The Gyro Free works like a simple ball-bearing diabolo, except it has three bearings . These give it a turbo-like effect . Thanks to its speed, the diabolo is very stable and will spin up to twenty times longer than a standard diabolo. This means the player has more time to perform and prepare their tricks.

It then becomes possible to link multiple sequences of tricks (combos). Due to its wide axis , it is possible to perform grinds on your fingers.

Highly recommended if you're looking to spend hours of fun manipulating a diabolo!

For what type of practice?

  • Diabolo for beginners: children, teens, adults.
  • Recommended for introductory circus workshops: robust and reliable equipment.
  • The fixed-axis gyro is suitable for practicing with 1 diabolo.
  • The Gyro Free, thanks to its triple ball bearing, is ideal for performing tricks and will be perfectly suited to beginners.
  • If you wish to practice with several diabolos at the same time, NetJuggler advises you to opt for larger diabolos .

NetJuggler information on bearing diabolo systems:

If you're not familiar with ball-bearing diabolos, the principle is this: once your diabolo has gained speed, it will maintain it much longer than a diabolo with a standard axle. Here are some of the advantages:

  • Spin time up to 20 times longer than that of a normal diabolo.
  • It is possible to perform many different tricks without having to re-accelerate your diabolo.
  • Wide axis allowing for many maneuvers.
  • Minimal friction between the axle and the sticks during grinds/slides.
  • Limits friction when practicing vertax, with the diabolo axis vertical.

Triple bearing for beginners:

Children and beginners will love it because its axis will allow very long grinds, making it possible to catch the diabolo on the sticks or even the fingers!

Triple bearing for experienced diabolo players:

The benefit for an experienced diabolo player will be to facilitate the excalibur or vertax figures, in which the diabolo will be used in a horizontal plane with its axis vertical.

Triple rotation for teachers:

Teachers will have plenty of time to explain tricks to beginners because the diabolo never stops spinning! You don't need to be an expert to teach new tricks.

Some drawbacks or limitations of ball bearings : it becomes impossible to perform all the tricks based on the elevator. These ball-bearing diabolos are not designed for playing with multiple diabolos, except in vertax, because they will spin too fast on the string compared to diabolos equipped with standard axles. It may be necessary to replace the bearing system once the balls in the bearings show signs of wear, which, of course, never happens on a standard diabolo!

Optional complementary products:

Aluminum sticks are excellent for beginners, especially because they are easier to use than wooden sticks for performing slides, tricks where the diabolo rolls along the sticks. This is one of beginners' favorite tricks.

Optional light kit for the Gyro diabolo . You can add a light kit to your order. This kit attaches to the Gyro diabolo, allowing you to create impressive light effects in the dark.

String roll : remember that diabolo string wears out! The string wears out particularly quickly for beginners who tend to have jerky movements compared to more experienced diabolo players who generally practice more smoothly.

NetJuggler Tips:

If you're a beginner, NetJuggler recommends ordering a spool of string with your purchase. Beginners, with their jerky, abrupt movements, wear out strings very quickly, in just a few hours, whereas the same string can last for several weeks for an experienced diabolo player. This will save you from having to pay for shipping again when your string breaks.

Why a medium-sized diabolo?

If you've browsed our site a bit, you'll see that we regularly recommend medium-sized diabolos... Why? Small diabolos are very difficult to use because they immediately lose speed. Large diabolos are excellent, but can be too heavy for younger children and are more expensive. Medium-sized diabolos offer excellent value for money and are suitable for both younger and older children to learn the basics of the sport!

    choice

Hello, I am a beginner. I played diabolo for a long time. I am demanding about the quality of the diabolo. I would like a medium-sized diabolo. Are the Gyro Free diabolo, the Anodized aluminum rods and the 10 meter Proline diabolo string a good choice?

      Re: choice

Your choice is perfect for beginners and for progressing later. You'll get good quality equipment here. Be careful, however, if you want to practice with several diabolos at the same time, I recommend opting for larger fixed-axle diabolos.

      Re: Title

      Cyclone Quartz vs Gyro Free

The shells are actually made with a higher-end plastic than the Quartz diabolo. It is a more flexible plastic with shape memory and anti-scratch. It will therefore have a much longer lifespan under intensive use, especially if the diabolo is used on asphalt or gravel.

The ball bearing system is identical to that of the Cyclone Quartz diabolo . The diabolo is equipped with two ball bearings and a unidirectional cylindrical bearing.
