Augustin the Elf:

Augustin the Goblin is a a 20-page children's book , written by Anaïs Lestrelin and illustrated by Lia Despas , created in the heart of the universe of Compagnie Mine de Rien .
Originally, Anaïs imagined this tale to give birth to a Christmas show combining juggling, magic, shadow puppetry and aerial apparatus. The book then came to extend this creation: it allows spectators to leave with the history of the show and reliving it at home.

Augustin is a little elf of Santa's Christmas helper who doesn't really feel in his place in the toy factory. One day, he decides to leave on an expedition to discover what he truly enjoys doing. On his On his way, he crosses mountains and forests, and encounters a witch. mysterious, encounters a guardian of the forest, an astonishing "Time turner" juggling hourglasses magical, and an aerial figure suspended from the moon.
Through these encounters inspired by the show's acts, Augustin learns to trust one's desires , to to find one's place and follow one's own path, in a spirit of sharing and good humor .

This book directly extends the world of the show. Compagnie Mine de Rien. The children find Augustin again, the snowy scenery, the forest, the aerial moon, and the characters crossed paths on stage.

The narration is fluid, ideal for young readers. as with bedtime stories. Illustrations by Lia Despas, both soft and luminous, clearly evoke the aesthetic circus performer (light juggling, magic, aerial…).

About the Mine de Rien Company:

The Compagnie Mine de Rien is a company of live circus performance founded by Anaïs and Bertrand Lestrelin in 2017. Their work mixes juggling , magic , stilts , aerial (moon, lollipop, fabrics…), dance and theatre, in collaboration with artists from other companies.

Their goal is simple: to share the circus and the good mood, offering moments of respite accessible to all audiences without political demands, but with attention a particular inclination towards poetry, wonder and connection with the audience.

The tale of Augustin the Goblin was written especially for giving rise to the Christmas show of the same name. The book allows us today to keep a record of this moment on stage and of to make it live beyond representation.
