Staff sold individually, equipped with Kevlar wicks.

Braided fire staff:

This staff is a model that spins and rolls smoothly compared to a normal staff. It can also be used for a dynamic practice. It is a rather versatile staff. Its particularity, compared to more affordable staffs, is to be equipped with a kevlar wick braided around the staff. There are no less than 8 meters of 10mm Kevlar rope on this staff. Under this Kevlar rope there is a classic wick which serves as thermal insulation but also as a fuel tank to increase the duration of the flames.

This quantity of Kevlar and this type of braiding make it possible to store large quantities of fuel, consequently, it allows to obtain a more imposing flame and which lasts longer than an assembly with a conventional wick.

The heart of Boryna is an exceptional weaving of 8 m of 10 mm rope. To extend the burning time, there is a Kevlar wick hidden under the string. It reduces the temperature and allows more fuel to be stored.

The metallic elements have been hidden to increase safety when using the staff. The special braiding structure allows oxygen to access a large area, which affects the size of the flame. The flame is huge, visible from afar and felt up close.

Technical characteristics of Boryna staff:

  • Kevlar rope width: 8 meters.
  • Length of flat Kevlar wick used: 80cm.
  • Length: 148cm.
  • Length of each head: 20cm.
  • Length of the part with grip: 43cm.
  • Weight of the staff: approximately 665 grams.
  • Ignition time: 5 to 11 minutes.
  • Handle / grip that absorbs perspiration.

What kind of use?

The Boryna fire staff is aimed at an adult professional public wishing to have a versatile staff. It can be used for dance with slow and fluid movements while giving good performance on fast movements. This model is not intended for specialized use like some of the other staff models that we have. We insist on a use reserved for professionals, this model is one of our staffs who have the most consistent flames.

If you are looking for a staff that will be more stable, for the contact discipline and with similar characteristics, we have a model with a 13mm wick (heavier). This makes a slightly heavier staff and it has a slightly longer ignition duration. This is the Szyszko staff.

Tips for using the fire staff:

Here are some guidelines to increase the lifespan of your staff. Professionals are used to this kind of instructions, but we never repeat them enough ...

When you soak your wicks, soak them 3/4, this will give the Kevlar time to absorb all the fuel and prevent it from leaking and running on the grip of your fire staff. It is important to know that the grip of the staff is resistant to heat but not to flames. Also, be careful not to let fuel run on the grip of the staff. This could encourage flames to spread over the grip and cause your grip to deform or wear prematurely.

  • Never use fuel such as White Spirit, Benzene or other alcohol based fuel. Prefer the use of flavorless oil which produces a very yellow so-called "cold" flame. If you have a blue or transparent flame, it means you are using the wrong fuel, so don't push it and check your fuel.
  • Do not hold the staff in a static vertical position, always keep it in motion or in a horizontal position so that the flames do not damage the structure or the elements of your staff such as its grip for example.
  • Handle the grip with delicacy to ensure a good lifespan.
  • Do not soak the staff in the fuel.
