Why is the rod a spring?

The spring wire prevents the torch from permanently bending in case of impact. It also ensures heat dissipation before it reaches the leather base.

Can they be worn directly on the skin?

Yes, the Gora protective leather is designed for this. However, be careful not to direct the wick downwards for too long, as the heat will rise back up to your limb by convection.

How to care for leather?

Leather can dry out with repeated heat. We recommend occasionally conditioning it with a natural leather grease to maintain its suppleness and heat resistance.

What is the main precaution to take when soaking?

Soak the wicks BEFORE attaching them to yourself. Use a bucket for the "spin-off" (wringing) to ensure that no fuel ends up on the leather or your skin.

How should torches be stored after use?

Never store them in an airtight bag immediately after use. Fuel vapors could permeate the leather. Wait until they have cooled completely and use a ventilated bag.
