The Levistick Vision from Flowtoys is a very impressive and extremely versatile product, especially when it comes to light control. However, the level of control depends largely on what you want to do with the light modes.
Here are the different options, from the simplest to the most advanced:
It is possible to change modes directly on the Levistick by pressing the button located at the end.
It's not the most practical solution, but it already allows you to do quite a lot in training or performance.
Mode changes can also be controlled using a remote control.
It's not much more convenient than the button at the end of the Levistick, but it does allow for remote control of gear changes.
If you want to create a light montage a bit like you would do a video montage, you will need to use the Flowtoys app on your phone (free).
It is also necessary to have a Flowtoys Bridge , which allows you to connect your phone to any Flowtoys brand equipment, including this Levistick.
With technical knowledge of the Chataigne software, it is possible to go even further in the control room.
You can then link your lighting equipment to other equipment: sound, triggers, stage lights, etc.
This compatibility also requires the Flowtoys Bridge , and there is no official documentation. Therefore, a technician familiar with using Chataigne is needed.
In summary, no software is needed to use the Levistick on a daily basis, but advanced programming and show synchronization require additional hardware and specific technical skills.
