Two complementary pairs of bolas to learn the figures and add style to your movements! This kit brings together a complete pair of sock bolas with its two weighting balls and a pair of scarf bolas with beautiful colourful trails. Learn the technical movements without being hindered by the scarves, then enjoy a spectacular visual effect once your figures are mastered.

Bolas Discovery Kit – Technique & Visual Effects

Do you want to discover bolas, also known as poi, but you don't know which model to start with? We have put together two particularly complementary types of bolas so you can learn the basics, progress and enjoy performing beautiful sequences.

With this bolas discovery kit, you get a pair of sock bolas to work on technique and a pair of scarf bolas to give your movements a more visual dimension.

Bolas are usually handled in pairs, one in each hand. They are spun to create circles, crossovers, changes of direction and increasingly elaborate figures.

This discipline develops coordination, a sense of rhythm, precision and fluidity of movement. It can be practised for fun, as part of circus arts or as a flow arts activity, where movement and personal expression play an important role.

Why combine sock bolas and scarf bolas?

Both models let you practise the same discipline, but they don't provide exactly the same sensations.

Sock bolas are particularly interesting for learning. They don't have long scarves floating behind them. You can therefore focus on hand placement, trajectories and understanding the figures without being hindered by fabric.

Scarf bolas, on the other hand, provide a very pleasant visual effect. The scarves follow the rotations and draw beautiful colourful trails through the air. Movements become fuller and sequences take on an almost choreographic dimension.

Our idea: learn with the socks, then showcase your movements with the scarves!

Of course, both pairs can also be used independently, depending on your preferences and the figures you want to work on.

What does the kit contain?

  • 1 complete NetJuggler sock bolas kit: two bolas in stretch fabric, two 90 g S-Cube balls to slip inside and a storage bag. A simple and effective set for learning rotations, crossovers and technical figures.
  • 1 pair of NetJuggler scarf bolas: two weighted bolas, each with a 60 × 60 cm coloured scarf. Their long fabric trails give movements greater scope and make the figures particularly visual. A small storage bag is also included.

Both pairs are complete: no additional weighting is needed to start practising.

Sock bolas: the ideal tool for learning figures

Sock bolas are a great classic for learning bolas. Their design is simple: a weighting ball is slipped into a stretch fabric sock, which you hold by its end to perform rotational movements.

For this kit, we have chosen the complete NetJuggler sock bolas kit, supplied with two 90 g S-Cube balls. Simply place one ball in each sock to start practising.

The main advantage of these bolas is the absence of long scarves. When discovering a new figure, you can therefore focus on the gestures and trajectories, without fabric floating around your arms or risking interference with certain passes.

Sock bolas are particularly interesting for working on crossovers, isolations, hyperloops and many more technical figures.

The stretch fabric offers a pleasant feel and good handling comfort, even during extended sessions.

Another advantage: they take up very little space. You can easily store them in their bag and take them with you to practise whenever you have a suitable space.

Scarf bolas: beautiful colourful trails

With scarf bolas, practising becomes much more visual!

Each bola comes with a scarf that unfurls in the air during rotations. The fabric follows the movement and creates a lovely coloured trail, which highlights the circles, crossovers and sequences.

Scarf bolas are particularly enjoyable once you start mastering your movements. A relatively simple figure can already produce a very beautiful visual effect thanks to the movement of the scarves.

We have selected the NetJuggler scarf bolas, equipped with 60 × 60 cm scarves and weighting suited to practice.

Their visual effect makes them an interesting accessory for demonstrations, circus workshops, events and anyone who enjoys combining object manipulation, music and movement.

The cords can be shortened to adjust their length to the user's preferences.

NetJuggler's opinion on this kit:

We find this combination particularly interesting for discovering bolas and progressing in the discipline.

When learning a new figure, long scarves can sometimes hinder movements, especially in crossovers or passes close to the body. With sock bolas, you can focus on technique and repeat the gestures without worrying about fabric trails.

Once the figure is understood and mastered, moving on to scarf bolas is very rewarding. The movements you have worked on immediately take on a new dimension thanks to the beautiful colourful trails.

We have also chosen a sock bolas kit already equipped with its two 90 g balls. There is therefore no need to look for suitable weighting before starting.

And to support your learning, we recommend the free bolas lessons made with Bow, available directly on NetJuggler.

A kit that combines the pleasure of learning with that of creating beautiful movements!

Our tips for getting off to a good start with this kit

1. Prepare the sock bolas: slip a 90 g S-Cube ball into each sock. Check that the balls are correctly positioned before starting.

2. Discover rotations: start by spinning one bola in each hand. Practise maintaining regular trajectories and controlling the rotation speed.

3. Work on your first crossovers: once the rotations become natural, discover the movements where the arms and bolas cross. Sock bolas are particularly well suited to these exercises.

4. Learn new figures with Bow: use the free tutorials to discover progressive movements and understand the technical gestures.

5. Move on to scarf bolas: once a figure is mastered, reproduce it with the scarf bolas. The colourful trails will showcase your movements.

6. Create your own sequences: combine several figures, play with rhythm and gradually give more room to your creativity.

Why choose this kit rather than a single pair of bolas?

Sock bolas and scarf bolas meet two different needs.

The former let you work on technical movements with compact equipment and no long fabric trail. The latter offer a much more developed visual effect, particularly pleasant for sequences and demonstrations.

With this kit, you therefore have two complementary tools to discover bolas and support your progress.

Both pairs are complete, each has its own storage, and you can also enjoy Bow's free tutorials on NetJuggler.

By choosing this kit, you also benefit from a more advantageous price than buying the two sets separately.

Learn the figures, then give them colour!

Sock bolas let you focus on technique, while scarf bolas transform your movements into beautiful colourful trails.

With Bow's free lessons to support you, you have everything you need to discover the discipline, progress at your own pace and enjoy creating your own sequences.

A complete kit to discover bolas and explore the pleasures of flow arts!

Safety advice: practise in a clear space, away from people, animals and fragile objects. Regularly check the condition of the fabrics, cords and weighting. Children must practise under adult supervision. This kit is intended exclusively for fire-free practice.
