Saint-JunienFrance

Rue du Cirque is a circus school and artistic creation space located at 5 Quai des Mégisseries in Saint-Junien, Haute-Vienne . Open to circus arts and the performing arts in general, the space welcomes both children wishing to discover circus practices and professional artists coming to work on their creations.

Throughout the school year, the school offers regular introductory and advanced circus arts classes . Workshops are organized by age group and led by professionals. Learning is progressive, taking into account each individual's abilities, in a fun, creative, dynamic, and non-competitive atmosphere. The goal is to acquire circus techniques while also developing coordination, balance, motor skills, self-confidence, creativity, and the joy of performing together.

Children can thus discover different circus disciplines and progress throughout the year. For the 2026-2027 season, Rue du Cirque welcomes a new teacher, Eloïse , who succeeds Alex. Specializing in aerial disciplines , her arrival allows the school to develop this aspect of its teaching with the opening of a new course entirely dedicated to aerial practices .

Regular classes are available for children aged 3 to 12 , with different time slots adapted to their age. The school also organizes circus workshops during school holidays , allowing children and teenagers to practice more intensively, discover new disciplines, and deepen their knowledge of those they already know.

But Rue du Cirque isn't just about teaching. Located at 5 Quai des Mégisseries, it's also conceived as an open space for artistic creation and exchange , centered around circus arts, dance, theatre, and live performance in general. The organization aims to foster collaborative projects and initiatives based on the interests and availability of those who bring the space to life.

Rue du Cirque notably develops a significant artistic residency program . Established and emerging artists and companies can come to work on projects in a wide range of disciplines: circus, theatre, dance, music, visual arts, set design , and more. Depending on the project's needs, the organization can provide its workshop, circus hall, and/or performance space . These residencies are open to professional artists from all geographical backgrounds.

As a circus school, practice space, creative space and venue for artists , Rue du Cirque contributes to the development of circus arts and live performance in Saint-Junien and Haute-Vienne , creating bridges between amateur learning, artistic practice and professional creation.
