Introducing the Jester diabolo set
In the video below I present the different Jester diabolos that exist and I also talk about the Jester diabolo with bearings which is the subject of this video.
Multicoloured ball-bearing diabolo:
This diabolo is perfect for diabolo enthusiasts looking for a fun time! Its axle features a unique ball-bearing system, giving it an impressive spinning speed. This makes learning the sport easier and, above all, more entertaining than using a diabolo with a fixed axle.
This bearing system allows the diabolo to have a much higher rotational speed than can be achieved with a normal diabolo.
- The casings of this model are made of flexible plastic, minimizing scratches during outdoor use. Another advantage of this flexibility is that the diabolo deforms when it falls to the ground, preventing it from breaking. This is what differentiates the diabolos sold on our site from those you might find in some toy stores.
- Its medium-sized shells ensure good stability and it is equipped with a wide axle allowing for many tricks where the diabolo lands on the fingers or on the sticks.
NetJuggler's review of this ball-bearing diabolo:
The Jester is a diabolo from the English manufacturer Juggle Dream. It's the least expensive ball-bearing diabolo we offer in our shops. We decided to add it to our range because we were pleasantly surprised by its performance. Of course, it doesn't match our range of ball-bearing diabolos made in Germany (by the manufacturer Henrys). But it will fully satisfy beginners eager to discover the sport. We particularly appreciate the fact that this model is multicolored, which will allow beginners to easily visualize the diabolo's rotation and thus facilitate their learning.
Features of the Jester bearing diabolo:
- Diameter: 118 mm.
- Height: 141 mm.
- Axle: ball bearing.
- Wide axle: 10 mm.
- Mass: 315 g.
- A black and white color code on each side of the axis allows you to determine the direction in which the diabolo should be used.
For what type of practice?
This model, the Jester with bearings, is fairly medium-sized with a relatively high weight for its size. This significant mass gives it excellent inertia. It is therefore suitable for children, teenagers, and adults alike.
NetJuggler Tips:
If you're a beginner, NetJuggler recommends ordering a spool of string with your purchase. Beginners, with their jerky, abrupt movements, wear out strings very quickly, in just a few hours, whereas the same string can last for several weeks for an experienced diabolo player. This will save you from having to pay for shipping again when your string runs out.
NetJuggler information on bearing diabolos:
If you're not familiar with ball-bearing diabolos, the principle is this: once your diabolo has gained speed, it will maintain it much longer than a diabolo with a standard axle. Here are some of the advantages:
- Spin time longer than that of a normal diabolo.
- It is possible to perform many different tricks without having to re-accelerate your diabolo.
- Wide axis allowing for many maneuvers.
- Minimal friction between the axle and the sticks during grinds/slides.
- Limits friction when practicing vertax (diabolo axis vertical).
Some drawbacks or limitations of ball bearings : it becomes impossible to perform all the tricks based on the elevator. These ball-bearing diabolos are not designed for playing with multiple diabolos (except for Vertax models), as they will spin too fast on the string compared to diabolos equipped with standard axles. It may be necessary to replace the bearing system once the balls in the bearings show signs of wear, which, of course, never happens on a standard diabolo!

Are fiberglass rods fragile?
Fiberglass rods are sturdy and can be used intensively.
They have a certain flexibility compared to aluminum rods which will be rigid.
